I mean at this point does there need to be a rally or protest at the capital? If all we can do is leave messages on some answering machine, then I feel like we're watching from the sidelines as the other team is runs up the score. Hearing Galt throw us all under the bus while he sits there...
Funny thing is, in the FWPs commission meeting this week, about 90% of the public comments they linked to the agenda were against the shoulder hunts and tons absolutely ripped the fwp a new one, but in the executive summary, they just say some comments were for and against, but let's just motion...
Does anyone think this will have an adverse effect on keeping Block Management properties enrolled going forward? I'm not sure what financial incentives the landowners have under this program, but if all else equal why wouldn't landowners choose this over BM every time? I think the program has...
I don't see how this is a bad thing. We're trading a trail across private for a new trail on previously unaccessible (without rock climbing gear) public. Isn't that the whole point? To increase public access to public lands?
If the landowner was blocking access to public land, that'd be a...
Loved it, Randy! I would vote for this format over the regular episodes, hands down. I'm always watching to learn something new and being able to see how and why you guys put your strategy to action was cool to see. Also reminded me how grueling these hunts are and why they're worth it.
OK, let's put this in perspective. There's 17,000 NR big game combo licenses and at $1,000 a pop, you're looking at $17M. That alone equates to 850,000 resident tags...And you're complaining about a lucky handful of NR's beating Powerball type odds to hunt on the US NATIONAL FOREST in the...
I've had a history of severe leg cramps and am super cautious about it. Been hospitalized in the the past with full body cramps so I don't take it lightly. 2 products I've found that both work for me are Gatorlytes (drink mix) and Endurolytes (pills). Either one would be good if you're worried...
I'll be heading to Central MT for the first week of archery season and possibly looking for a partner. I've got a general tag and had planned on going solo, but it'll definitely help my wife sleep better at night if I'm out there with someone else! I'm from MN, 32 years old, work out all year...
So, my September is completely shot and I'm debating whether to go the first week of October with a bow or wait till rifle opener. The area I typically bowhunt is very thick and success is dependent on hearing elk. I've never been there in October, so I'm wondering how vocal the elk are...
My experience last year was it was next to impossible getting away from people in the Crazies during archery. No better way to ruin a hunt, no less a thousand dollar tag, than running into spike camps 3 miles in a handful of times. We pulled anchor on day 5 of a 10 day hunt and headed for...
What a joke MT FWP has become. Political pawns, wolves in sheep's clothing, whatever you want to call it, it's a shame. From this debacle to their ridiculously priced $1,001 NR tags, as a NR I just don't see any incentive to investing one iota of my hunting future in this state. I'll save $300 a...
That is absolutely ridiculous. A NR can get an Idaho elk and deer tag for roughly the same cost as a MT elk tag! And you can get your kid a license for $40 in Idaho, vs $500 some in MT. I don't get what the FWP is thinking, just crazy!
I have a Horn Hunter Full Curl System for sale in Realtree APG camo. Only used for 2 6 day hunts over past 2 years and never packed an animal out with it, no blood or stains. I did remove the hipbelt pocket on the right hand side so I could attach a pistol holster instead. Everything's in great...
The one nice thing that Idaho has going for it is you can archery hunt OTC in the controlled rifle zones, which would lead to older aged bulls. And some of these units have bull:cow ratios over 40% and success rates over 20%. So essentially, you can hunt a trophy unit every year as a...
