My browning x bolt 25-06 likes the 100 gr ttsx and 110 accubonds the best. I've shot the 120 fusions out of it and they've worked great on deer and antelope as well.
Take a look and compare the energy between the two. It's obviously listed by the manufacturer so it will vary from the actual rifle. The 120 shines with the higher BC. The TTSX has gotten it done for me on antelope in the past and a black bear this year too so no complaints there either. Good luck!
I've shot the factory barnes 100gr TTSX out of mine with good results. I keep bouncing between them and the federal fusion 120s. Killed a good amount of deer with that 120 that didn't take a step.
My wife shoots a x bolt micro midas in 308 with 150 grain accubonds. Its done great on elk and comes threaded with both a muzzle break and a thread protector. Pretty wide range of calibers to choose from too
I can tell you this is the first year I hunted elk for a week during a full moon and it was horrible. Coincidence with other factors such as those listed above? Could be. We had about 30 mins to glass following first light before they were in the thick timber and they didn't come out until after...
I've done my own for around 8 years now. It only takes a couple years of doing it yourself and you'll already be money ahead, along with knowing how it was processed and cared for.
