I try break the hunts I’m saving points for into 3 categories:
1. 0-5 years to draw
2. 6-10 years to draw
3. 10+ years to draw
Also I want to have the same specie in every category (ie MT general deer, NV deer, AZ deer)
For category 1 my goal is to hunt as much as possible. I am looking at...
+1 on this. I did this with my AZ bull as I plan to move in a couple years. If you don't plan to be in that house forever than this is the perfect option. You don't want to have it mounted in a way that wouldn't work well if you move to a house with taller ceilings.
+1 for the Four Dog stove. Don the owner is great and helpful. I like that it’s square for packing, everything stores inside and it seals really well with the braided fiberglass seal on the door. I’ve never used another stove though to compare.
I really like my Four Dog stove but this is the only one I have owned. Don who builds them in MN is a great guy. I feel as though this one seals well compared to others so you can dial in the venting for longer burns.
You should be so proud of your commitment to one another. It's a great example to the younger generations like myself. I can't imagine how that loss feels. I know if I lost my wife I would feel deeply incomplete. I pray that you can find comfort in your memories together and that she watches...
I am a little bummed as I expected by buddy to draw based on having 2 points more than what was needed last year for the bonus pass. I'm hoping there's still a chance!
I just keep going by the motto, you can't win if you don't play.
Definitely a large increase due to media creating awareness but I think it's all for the betterment of hunting.
The question I have is how many people drop out because of decreasing health/ability due to age? More specifically...
Oh man Helena and Delta Junction are vastly different places! That's exciting. I've spent time in both so feel free to send me a message with specific questions.
Steve
I appreciate all the banter on this thread, I really didn't expect it but it's been oddly helpful!
A few observations:
1. Real Estate is going up astronomically. Will it continue?
2. Hunting is crowded everywhere. Go to a different state!
3. Everyone hates the major cities in Montana :)
My...
Definitely the biggest down side of the MT mountain regions are the real estate trends. I don’t see how it can continue. How does someone on an below average salary buy a $400k home and make it work? Referring to early posts.
My wife’s cousins live in Clancy! Nice town and close enough to Helena. I’m not sure if Benefis will add an OBGYN to that new location, looks doubtful but we will be asking.
This seems like solid feedback. I’m not too worried about fitting in as someone who grew up in ND. I don’t look like a Californian I look like a very average person from rural Midwest who says please and thank you and who would offer to help jump your car if you needed ha.
I might have to let...
I think it is worth mentioning that a lot of what makes a person love a place is the people. Before we moved to Yakima, WA all we heard about was how bad it was. Then we moved there and found an amazing group of friends which was proceeded with a lot of adventures in the areas around it. We...
Possibly too small for the work situation she is looking for (although maybe not) but no it’s not too small besides that. She graduated with a class of 11 people at her ND high school. No town is too small for us if you take her job portion out of the equation.
