Don't know of a link. First hand information here, there was a great sheep hunting unit between Regis and Plains. The powers that be decided to do a burn to increase forage (in the fall mind you) Come spring time the sheep "disappeared" and they no longer give Big Horn tags in that unit.
If this is what it took to get my dad back into the bowhunting world, I am all in.
But seeing how crazy new crossbows are is also very scary. 100 yard accuracy better than lots of hunter can achieve with a rifle.
Interesting negative on shot angle. I "gut punched" one at 23 yards three years ago. Hit it in the pocket at a perfect broadside cow. Arrow deflected into the hind quarter on the off side. left a small blood trail for a hundred yards. Not sure how it happened but did find the cow about 400 yards...
I carry a heavy old ixed blade knife handed down from my father, a swing blade and a havalon. Usually only use the havalon and the swing blade though unless doing some major work.
When you open a new blade just open it far enough to get the new one out of the package then put the old one into it...
The funny thing is when I read this I substituted elk and it still applied. The war on our elk sounds like they could be pigs to some farmers/ fish and game in the western part of our state.

I am fine to hear from those of you in the know that my time is being wasted even thinking about it on 24 acres. Hunting season is coming, I should be shooting my bow anyway!
