    Female Shotgun Advice

Hey I'm bringing this back to life. My daughter confessed to me she prefers bird hunting over big game hunting, and prefers duck hunting over chukars. She has a single shot 410, she really likes it and shoots it pretty well. But she noticed this last weekend that it just doesn't have the...

Breakneck Billy: A Goat Hunt On Crack

I've been waiting for a high country muzzy deer thread... Did I miss it? Or are you too busy with your elitist goat hunting to partake of the commoners hunts? LOL

Buy new duck decoys or fix old ones

Attached to the dekes or unclip them first? Used dekes aren't much of a think out here, just not enough guys that into it to be selling decent stuff. I generally keep painting mine until they become brittle, not much you can do with them at that point.

Buy new duck decoys or fix old ones

I finally bought some and talk about underwhelming. Paint job is C-, and the shape is an F for about 1/2 of the dozen. Droopy bills from shipping that won't straighten. I also got the Texas rigs for them, and talk about a PITA if you need to haul them in a pack. Maybe I'll figure out the...

Our new tractor has quite a few safety features, enough that I actually let the kids operate it. But the old one... shit that thing was just looking to kill you. My dad talks about all the people he grew up with who had missing appendages from tractor accidents. But he was still moving apple...

    Northern lights tonight

Let's be honest, mostly it still sucked with the naked eye. Until I got to pee at 3, and the sky was going crazy. Looked like I was staring up at a dancing river of light. No camera needed. The colors were still muted but the brightness was incredible. I tried to take a picture but none of them...

Good Neighbor: Elk Management in Montana

I'm familiar with the text, thanks. "When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.” – Aldo Leopold You can twist it all you want, but there ain't any love and respect in asking someone else to pay you to tolerate wildlife on your property...

Good Neighbor: Elk Management in Montana

I'll drink beer and get along fine with plenty of asshats, the world's full of them, hell I'm sure plenty of people put me in that camp too, so it's not exactly that bad of a label. There's plenty of labels that are much worse. I had to go back to fact-check myself because that part of your...

Good Neighbor: Elk Management in Montana

@Ben Lamb if you can afford to do something yet elect to take public money instead, you're a greedy welfare baby, I don't care if you're requesting funds to replace culverts, plant stream banks, or replace grass eaten by elk. There are both drawbacks and benefits to owning land. The public...

Good Neighbor: Elk Management in Montana

For starters the asshat in your video with the million-dollar custom log house stuffed with dead public resources that was driving the new pickup. Three $*)Q!#@$ things this peon, for one, can't afford, but I'm not clamoring to be paid for the grass the deer and elk eat on my place, or the...

Good Neighbor: Elk Management in Montana

Why is the public getting involved in a neighbor problem? At this point I'm confused as to what the actual problem is? Is it traditional ranchers that have too many elk or is it access to elk for the public? It seems that the only ones who benefit from any of the proposed "solutions" are the...
