How long did you hunt....
I got totally lucky and killed a spike bull as the sun came up on my first day of hunting with tag in pocket. I shot that bull on the run with a borrowed .30-30. Total luck all the way around, but I was the happiest kid on the planet!- Ultrahunter

30-30 levergun in the West?
I killed my first elk with a 30-30. Looking at that thing now in the back of my safe were it has sat for 20+ years, it amazes me that I ever hit that spike, total luck!- Ultrahunter
