On an unrelated note, while attempting to relieve myself during late muzzeloader/archery season, many times I've experienced both ground shrinkage and "in tree shrinkage" once those cold fingers finally make their way through 6 inches of clothes. Depending on if I'm hunting off the ground or...
Same here. As much as I'd like a nice mulie with the current state of things out there maybe a whitey would be a better choice. Got a friend whos convinced its mule deer or no deer and that he wouldn't go out of state to hunt whitetails when we literally hunt them in our back yard. I tell him...
Nov 2017 watched this buck nosing a doe around in a thicket for a good 15 minutes. Never could get a real good look at him but when the doe made her way out of the thick stuff and walked through an opening he followed. I shot him when he stopped in that same opening. In my mind, watching him...
Well, funny this should pop up but I "accidentally" won two at an online estate auction a few weeks back. Alas, one was meant to be a gift for a good buddy of mine. The other, I thought of selling on ebay but ended up giving it to another good friend of mine. So unfortunately I can't help you...
So does alot of the country. Trouble is the mindset of these people. Thing is, if someone's never taken a mule deer (or antelop, elk etc) I understand. But to spend your whole life hunting whitetails, then go out of state hoping for bigger whitetails, then shoot a dink that's a little puzzling...
Same guys from Florida, Georgia, Pennsylvania, etc that flock here to the midwest to stick an arrow in the first 120" 2.5 yr old whitetail they see. I mean, yeah a 120 may be the biggest deer of their life back home but I still don't get it.
My uncle has a mid 70' 760 in 30-06. Thing's killed more deer than CWD. Still haven't convinced him to sell it to me. The ol "Amish machine gun" used to be THE deer rifle to have around these parts.
Keep the 22 mag for sure. I imagine there's plenty of jackrabbits in Nevada to use it on. And if you ever go on a prairie dog shoot you'll be glad to have it as well. The slug gun? I'd trade it for a rifle of sorts, but that's just me. You can never have too many rifles.
Big no for me from Wyoming on my cow elk tag. Still trying to build points for a general but gonna be a few years yet. May just do OTC Colorado if the antelope draw doesn't don't pan out or I suppose maybe focus on bird hunting this year.
