Non-resident outfitter license (MT) Bill is up for hearing 2/2/2021 (SB 143)

2 points every year assures outfitters’ clients will draw at least until the NR demand reaches a level that 2 points is longer 100% odds. I’m sure they will be back with their hand out again though. Sadly the original version of 143 was probably better than this garbage.

Anybody know an outfitter who wants to sponsor a tag since I didn’t draw? Asking for a friend

I could be wrong but I think the push back on the amended version is from the bills writer. I believe the statement I heard/read was along the lines of “the original bill or no bill at all”

I just don’t see it getting anymore overrun than it already is... unless the number of licenses is going up and we know that’s not happening.

They are BOTH coming in some form another. Just a matter time. Kinda like diamonds... time and pressure.

All this talk about pricing the common man out of hunting makes me wonder does said common man not have any hunting in their own state? Why is it a requirement that the common man hunt out of state?

The cheap NR youth any elk/deer/antelope tags can go too. Make a youth price on the type 4,5,6,7 tags if they have to have a “special fee” And yes I have kids before anyone starts the “oh the children” posts.

With everyone taking their football and going home maybe I will still get to WY more often than not. Guess I can always hope.

Nevada and Utah LE licenses off the top of my head. MT isn’t too far behind. If I could get a bull elk tag every year in WY for $1,100 I’d take it and laugh all the way across I80.

This bill is written better than the last few of its nature. I think it has good chance to pass this go round. There is a growing faction of WY residents that want more opportunity in their home state especially with opportunity decreasing and demand increasing in other states across the west...

Non-resident outfitter license (MT) Bill is up for hearing 2/2/2021 (SB 143)

I can agree with most of what you said but I probably would have sat down with both sides as you say prior to introduction and writing of 143....

As long as you can only apply early or later, but not both.... I’m good with it.
