    New guy from Michigan!

Hello all! I am a an avid hunter from Michigan who spends all my falls chasing game in the western states. I am predominately an archer and find my enjoyment outside of family comes from putting miles on my boots and shooting. I like to reload and shoot long range as well. My favorite states...

    Moose in Montana

Thanks for all the comments. I’m struggling a bit to see how folks are bridging my post with a lack of commitment to the hunt or experience. I have several scouting trips planned and will put my time in along with posts of my adventure. I was simply looking to get insight on where to focus my...

    Whats your most accurate rifle?

I have not been as lucky as you to get average guns with average optics to shoot sub MOA with any ammo. (Could be the shooter). Anyway I find you get what you pay for. My best setup is my .28 nosler from Gunwerks. It has a kahles 4.5 x 30 scope. I use custome loads shooting 167 grain Berger’s...

    Fit for Hunting and Fishing

Great work! Keep it up. I’m a big man and have a similar battle. I find managing my macro nutrients vs my calories is the most helpful to keep my A1C below 6. I quit sugar just about all together and force myself to eat my macros in proper proportions. Macros are carbs, fats, and protein...

Do you sell your pottery. That tea set would be a lovely gift for my wife. If so hit me up.

Post your Hobbys (other then hunting) just for fun

I do similar. I just planted 21 acres of food plots. Corn and soy. Farm work in general is my hobby. Love to tinker when not hunting or fishing. I also like to reload. Good stuff!!!!!

How do I field Score a Trophy Cow Elk?

Yeah. Draw a straight line from her front elbow to the top of her tail. She gets a point for every inch of belly fat under that line. ;)(y) In this case a 6” would be a book cow!!!!

Bear spray vs. bullets: how to stay safe in grizzly country

I’ve been told bear spray is better used as seasoning salt and you should use it on yourself if being charged or attacked. Hard not to hunt with the Grizz these days with all the Yellowstone problem children getting dropped in my core area. I carry a .44mag and in all seriousness I carry bear...

    Optics/Bullet for First Elk Tag

I don’t disagree Don. I have no doubts about the .30-06. Tried and true. I just found it interesting that someone actually published an article on this very subject. Had to share. 175 grains and you really have very similar results. I like the .30 cal family period. 7 mm is nice but I think...
