Hiked 5 miles into the Wilderness area to retrieve my camera that I set up last September, anticipating all the glorious pics I might have of big bulls and bears. Only to find the tree got blown over 15 days after I set it up....DISAPPOINTMENT!
I haven't read through any of the posts other than your original post Schaaf, but I am a lefty & have been shooting guns and bows right handed for almost 40 years. I have gotten used to it, and actually shoot my bow with both eyes open. So yes, it can be done
Well said man! I was lucky enough to tag along with a houndsman and his friend 2 years ago simply by coincidence, it was one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced in the mountains. I have the utmost respect for the houndsman and their dogs. Those dogs are just flat out awesome creatures.
That's exactly what I'm going to do this summer.....not look like Forrest; the part about just running an "ultra" that I plan the route on my own, tell the wife, and take off.
Turkeys can be very weather & wind dependent, I've learned over the many years of hunting them I don't have to grind out a freezing cold or wet or windy day in the turkey woods like hunting deer or elk, it's usually not very productive.
You know, all you guys had to do was ask me to get out of my office chair, walk a couple blocks down to FWP HQ and ask them in person when the draw will happen (to the minute) walk back to my office chair and report back to you guys......geesh!

Hunting out west is pretty straight-forward for the public land guy. As said above, review maps for public land access, and focus on river bottoms and rolling pine hiills with open areas for turkeys in MT. Then get in the truck and confirm, then get out of the truck and put your boots on the...
that's exactly what I do and it works out well, I think I use 2x10's to get above the wheelwells. I can store stuff under it and I sleep on top and put all my tupperware's with food & clothes in there also, makes a nice mobile hunting rig, and keeps me dry for short $$'s
