I sleep just dandy in my truck topper with a DIY shelf built in for mattress, store some things under it, etc. So quick and easy and when the wind is blowing or raining/snowing out you can stay dry.
Maybe if I was stuck in the middle of the Bob Marshall in the middle of winter with no hope of rescue for months, then maybe I'd eat an unsuspecting wolf that came too close to camp, otherwise, not worth the risk for me.
hats off to you guys though
Some good points in here that I didn't consider about this proposed bill and the conflicts it could cause, thanks for the insight from multiple perspectives.
I've never ever understood when hunters pick apart the hunting methods of other hunters, always thought we were in this all together. e.g. hunting w/hounds, hunting w/bow or gun or muzzleloader, hunting on Sunday, trapping, etc. etc. etc.
"I can't understand why you guys think it's fair to...
Thanks for all the helpful information on these bills guys, appreciate it. The more I learn about this process and how politicians act based on lobbyist the more by blood pressure goes up....not good!
If you want to take in the full experience without being rushed, and have the time and resources, take 2 weeks off and soak it all in, you won't regret it. Especially if you have a deer tag
The more I learn about how our govt. works during legislative sessions, both State and Federal level, the more I am amazed that this democracy has held together for more than 225 years without imploding. My respect for politicians decreases every day for each and every-single-one of the...
Nothing better than seeing a good ole midwestern boy having success. I can relate to alot of stuff they discuss about MI since I grew up in in the northern tip of IN.
I say more power to them, hell yah, congrats guys and keep it going!
They are the kind of guys if I ran into them in the...
All rural places in the continental US are under siege following the 'rona pandemic, as people flee the urban centers. For me personally, the only silver lining to having grizz spreading throughout MT is to scare off some of those people who may not be so dedicated to staying here, just sayin.
unfortunately that is the common perception out in that area. The truth of the matter is hunters and true outdoorsman out in that area are like fish out of water, I was constantly justifying my existence to people who had no idea, and in a way it was good because I opened some peoples eyes to...
Good luck with that one, hope you guys get it but highly unlikely.
I lived out there for 20 years and a bill of that nature would come up every few years.....and go nowhere as you can imagine.
I took my son and his friend on a duck hunt in Upstate NY when he was about 15, between 5 of us we had our limit of 3 woodies apiece in about 45 minutes, it was the most action packed and fun shooting think we've ever had. Those kids will hopefully remember that trip for years to come, I know my...
I find it very satisfying to skin them out, flesh, stretch and sell. I enjoy cleaning up the fur while it's drying and getting a little $$ for doing something I love to do, but that's just me.
The skulls look really neat boiled down and bleached white.
I've got one tanned, and I also have a...
I've only had one encounter w/a sow & cub in the last 4 yrs in MT, I think each situation will present itself differently, rehearse your reaction in your head alot and practice drawing bear spray is what we do.
I will say it was a good learning experience, when I'm in grizz country now my...
