    New Western hunter needs advice on Mule deer hunting

    I've only hunted mule deer once but what I learned is if you don't see deer look harder it sometimes takes awhile to spot them. The other thing is to find a water source it seemed I found more deer around water.

    Looking for some ideas for a hunt this coming fall. With application season coming up I need to figure out where and what apply for. My problem is that from about the 20th of August until the end of November I am extra busy with farm work so most of the normal hunting season dates dont work...

    Thanks for the replies. I'm from Minnesota I have hunted in coyotes in sd in December before and the weather can deffinately be nasty! I would like to hunt earlier in the year but am just to busy, so i figured I might as well give it a try and maybe next year I well be able to go earlier.
