I think there is a decent percentage of the population here that's black phase. I saw my first one probably ten years ago but have at least 3 different ones on camera this year. They are deffinately pretty cool.
Thanks guys I'm guessing that's going to be a once in a lifetime buck. He is definitely by far the biggest I've ever seen. Good luck to all that are still hunting!
If you have time to go i would use them. With 4 points you should be able to draw a pretty decent tag. Point creep seems to be fairly bad in Wyoming and you might not be able to hunt an area that's much better in 4 years than what you can draw now.
Lots of clueless people out there for sure. At a local county fair probably ten years ago a lady asked me "if she could buy my show heifer to save it from being turned into pork chops?". I just told her don't worry she will never be turned into pork chops.
Will be headed to Utah in August with General deer tag. I just really want to know what area. Should also get in better shape as mid August is not all that far away.
We got around 700 cattle on feed right now so I'm not worried about running out of food. Deffinately going to be hard on the bank account though with these prices.
I hunted elk for the first time this past year and I used no excuse 460 grain conical. I got under 50 yards from him and just as I shot he turned fast to run off. I was on him just behind front shoulder but the bullet entered through back quarter and went all the way through him and got lodged...
Thanks! Sometimes better to be lucky then good. This was my first elk hunt and got him the first day so beginners luck! Not the best photos but we were in a hurry to get him broke down before dark.
