    KODIAK BROWN BEAR HUNT

Congrats! That's a huge bear I don't think I would want to be that close to a giant like that.

    May 20th, really?!?

I'm in with 7 points I'm kinda hoping I don't draw since I already drew a New Mexico elk tag and should draw a Colorado deer tag. I won't turn down tags but my wife might kill me.

    Guided vs diy

I have made some phone calls to guides trying to get a feel for who I would want to go with if I go that route. If I do go guided I don't want to feel like they are doing all the hunting and I'm just walking around like a puppet and there for killing. I get more enjoyment from the memories me...

    Guided vs diy

I agree this is how I felt before I started talking to other people about the hunt. I am fine with going home empty handed its the memories that make the trip and I think it would be more fun with just me and my brother. 16a is the unit

Does anyone know any guides in that area that they would recommend or not recommend?

    Guided vs diy

I was thinking of this also and that it would be a way to avoid getting a guide. If I could make friends with someone familiar with the area that might even want to tag along for the hunt would be a benefit.

    Guided vs diy

Thanks for the replies! I thought about drop camp or having an outfitter doing some scouting for me but the one outfitter told me that they could provide services like that but that most places would put the higher paying full guided clients in better spots. I don't totally agree with it but...

    Guided vs diy

I never thought I would consider going on a guided hunt until last week when I drew a archery elk tag for the Gila National Forest. Given the circumstance that this might be one of the best tags I ever draw I want to make the most of it. I have been pretty successful hunting out west diy but I...

Drew an Elk MZ tag... now what?

Congrats on drawing a tag that should be a fun hunt! I just got into muzzleloaders 2 years ago when I drew my 1st elk tag. I would recommend a finding a bullet that your gun likes to shoot and practice with that and not be to worried about needing to shoot long range. Just take your time to get...

    CO 3rd or 4th Season?

I got 6 points that I'm not sure what to do with. 3rd and 4th season look good but I'm thinking muzzleloader might be where I apply.

    CO 3rd or 4th Season?

Do you think people will want to use that many points for a hunt that is crowded with otc elk hunters? I've been doing some research and it looks like a quite a few units that only took 1 or 2 points for 3rd season that took 7+ for 4th. Seems like a huge jump in points for a hunt that has later...

    The Ranching Economy

Being a crop farmer and cattle feeder i have a different look at this then most people on here. I eat beef 6 days a week and am scheduled to work 7 days a week no holidays no sick pay no overtime no benefits. I'm not complaining I enjoy it even on the 30 below mornings. I do think it's quite...

I started using the video function on my cameras this past year and it is crazy how much stuff is missed in just still photos.
