So you’re saying the process worked and he was held responsible for his actions. Same can’t be said for landowner, outfitters, and their agents who haze animals off accessible public land. Or ”shoot at prairie dogs” when there’s hunters on the public. Or harass hunters in other ways on that...
FWP already offers landowner preference for deer and antelope. Elk too but sounds like landowner preference for elk is the only one in law. This law is essentially to legalize something they’re already doing. The chart doesn’t make it appear that there’s many landowners applying for antelope...
FYI i was told by a warden that their direction is to not write a ticket for corner crossing. Any instance of corner crossing that a landowner wants pursued is sent to the county attorney. Depending on the county (Gallatin etc) i bet you’re good criminally.
I’m sure it’s purely coincidence that the portion of HD380 east of Hwy 287 that’s being moved into general HD312 is owned primarily by one guy. And outiftted. And he’s been trying (unsuccessfull) to get it removed from 380 for years. And he donates big to Gianforte.
Most outfitters I know overbook every year because of the NR draw. If an outfitter is full can these NRs who didn’t draw but booked a hunt go with another outfitter? How many “bookings” are being sold right now and backdated to March? Lots of places to exploit this bill.
I 100% agree with restricting the season length and I would guess most here do also. Perhaps some support from MOGA would go a long ways to change it?
I wish you the best with your growing season. Was just out in Glendive and it’s as dry as I’ve ever seen. Maybe we could make NR hunters bring 5...
We ranch and yet somehow my dad’s found the time to visit his grandsons in Washington 6 times over the last year and my brother fishes 5 nights a week. And we’re profitable. What we don’t do is take 11 weeks to rub shoulders with rich clients hunting the ranch.
As I read it:
Choice #1: Randy Newberg
Choice #2: Tim Fox
Choice #3: Marcus the llama
Choice #4: A random piece of firewood that won’t screw DC up any further.
He’s already proven that he’s only interested in the job as a stepping stone to the next best thing. We suspect that’s the case with most candidates but know it to be the case with him. He’s going to have to come back to MT from California to campaign and stop calling Whitefish his “vacation...

“I’m sure we can find a recently-relocated rich out-of-stater who’s more than willing to speak for the true Montanans who’ve somehow survived without their insight all these years. I’d bet on it.”
You can’t even brag about calling it...
