    Thanks, the EGW rail is about .2 taller than the Warne bases I usually use so to some extent it probably a mind trick as the difference is really just the same as going from low to medium rings.

    not 100% on this , but I recall the tactical 110 gr is designed for penetration (thru car doors and windshields for example) so behaves like a solid in game.

    Thanks! Kind of the direction I was headed, got the EGW bases and with low Warne rings I was about 3/4 inch of clearance and probably 2 plus inches above the bore which felt a little high.

    Both still lock up tight, the 32-20 has a Winchester peep and Beeches flip up front, the 38-40 a Lyman peep, both excellent bores, 32 about 90% blue, the 38 maybe 50-60% mostly nice patina.

    I have a 32-20 that is about 90% and a 38-40 about the same as the one on the left. These are fun to shoot, shot a prarie dog with the 32-20! These were pretty cheap 30 years ago,no one seemed to care now they seem to start around $1K AND GO UP.

    Two of my favorites, a Model 94 deluxe take down with exhibition wood and pencil carbine length barrel in 30-30, a Model 70 Super grade 257 Roberts ca. 1952, fancy wood for a super grade so probably special order. Shot two white tails with 94 and 3-4 with the 257 then they became safe queens.
