MT Regs - Game cameras during seasons?

I'm with you on not being able to use drones to actively scout and hunt animals, but to say you can send the drone over to the other side and then just wander over there and kill it is a bit off in my opinion. That's like saying I can use my spotter to glass a massive bull elk two ridges over...

    Montana Hunter Orange Bill???

Greenhorn pretty much summed it up. If you're trying to avoid the law why would you wear orange in the first place? If your trespassing you probably have no problem ditching the orange. If your scared of getting shot then wear it.

    Texas Snow Yote

Looked like a good time and that sight is pretty rad. Sure is a pricey little bugger though.

Missouri River Breaks MT- Hunting Elk

Welcome to a great site. Lots of quality info given out on this page but given your first post is asking for hunting suggestions for a highly hunted unit it will be interesting to see what you get.

    Stone Glacier and Other Packs

No experience with Stone Glacier but I'm sure they are great packs and many guys on here enjoy them. I would definitely say the Metcalf is not too big to day hunt out of. Actually its quite nice as a day pack. Just tighten down all the compression straps and it compresses down as small as the...

    Recommendations for New Pack?

I would recommend Mystery Ranch. Packed out bear, wolf, deer, elk, antelope and never had an issue.

Wolf shot by hiker on Rathdrum Mountain

Seems legit to me. One less wolf. Tag or not glad he shot it.

    new to Idaho

While I'm sure there is some truth to Pinecrickers words I'd stray from the negatives and look for the positive. Granted MT has some great opportunities, so does Idaho. If your looking to stay close to Spirit Lake then it probably is going to be a bit tougher. Otherwise east of Coeur d'Alene...

    How Big??

I'd say 80 pounds give or take a bit. Pretty much an average wolf. Foot size is large compared to weight on wolves. Spread your hand open and cover about 85-90% and that's what I'd call a big wolf.

    Coyote/Wolf Derby Canceled?

I say stand for what you believe. You start worrying about perception too much and they've won already. They are slowly changing your habits right then and there. If it's right then be proud of it. Trying to appear the correct way to anti's will never change their belief structure. They...

    Pneumonia in Yellowstone Bighorns

I'm sure this could be solved with some Wild West tactics by some locals.

    Tag your animal immediately!

Well by definition no one can be legal in immediately tagging their game. The definition of immediately is "instantly" or "without any intervening time or space." Better have that tag right next to your rifle with a knife laid out. After a long hunt (sometimes years) people are excited when...
