I think reach to trigger is too long on most rifles and stock setups for me. The KMW sentinel and an AICS 1.5 are th only stocks I've used that I could run the straight blade TT in. My manners stocks are all inletted too far forward for me to get a consistent grip and still obtain a nice...
I had really good luck with a 1:8 brux .243 win shooting 105 hybrids and 105 amax. I currently have a 1:7.5 bartlein chambered in the same and it seems to be doing fairly well so far with 112 match burners.
I don't have alot of interest in shooting bullets under 100gr though.
My recommendation would be to run a sized piece of brass all the way up into your press. Then screw the seating die body down until it makes contact. Back it off a half turn or so and then set your locking ring. At that point re- set your seating depth.
Sounds like you are most likely contacting the case and pushing material around with your seating die as noted above.
Also regarding your FL seizing die setup. I haven't used Lyman dies, but the FL seizing dies I have used all came with instructions to screw down until contact with the shell...
I'm probably just being a negative ass. I can imagine that this could be useful for managing impact at a large scale. Whether it is a plus will depend on implementation and I am unfortunately woefully ignorant of how our current system works/doesn't work.
Have the reliability issues with those shield arms mags actually been hammered out? I looked into them for a bit a couple years ago. I stuck with the factory 10 round mags when the high round count reviews were poor and the good ones were all "I ran a mag through it without issues, they are...
"For instance, a solar energy project on public lands could compensate for the loss of wildlife habitat by restoring habitat in another area."
Like most things and as you say, I imagine the devil will be in the details
My jaded and rather uneducated read. Instead of managing properties with habitat and conservation in mind, we can now justify trashing some prime mule deer habitat with a solar panel array as long as once purchases a conservation lease on some barren pile of rocks somewhere else.
I might...
The common number thrown around is that you'll lose roughly 25fps per inch of barrel. I haven't cut down any barrels but this jives with my experience on some shorter barrels (18"-20") with .260 Rem, .243 Win, and 6.5 creed.
My vote was for the 6.5 creed, 6 creed same story. It's hard to argue against the ammo availability and the shootablilty in a lightweight rifle. Factory ammo is loaded with projectiles that will hang with the big boys in the wind. I'm not really interested in lightweight guns with lots of...
I currently use Kuhl renegades for most of my hunting and outdoor activities. They're super lightweight, dry really fast, and when it gets cold I just put some long underwear on underneath them and wear gaitors.
I would love to find some pants that are similar but have some waterproof...
I haven't had issues down to single digits with my hd-b 3000s or 3200s. The leica warranty has been good to deal with but a little slow.
When I picked up the 3000s, highly discounted, a few years back I got a bum unit that the focus locked up on within 30 minutes of use. The retailer...
I have the leica geovids and definitely will not be going back to separate units. Leica has a habit of releasing a new version their flagship geovid every couple years, so you can often get a smoking deal on the "old" version.
The mcmillan game warden LR checks alot of boxes, no tikka inlet in their description through.
Not that many people treat their rifles as tools. I'm certainly guilty of getting the new shiny thing instead of spending that money on burning a handful of barrels to the ground on the rifles I...
