I moved to carcass a bit to hope for some better lighting on the pics, big mistake, eagle pictures have dwindled and Bobcats are non-existent. Here a a couple of cool ones though.
We.put out the carcasses from our butchered deer and the coyotes always chew on them. They have way more scent on them than the one leg I drug this one by....
Interesting is that out of 4552 pictures not a single coyote, but, the camera 30 yards up the hill had several coyotes same time frame.... Human smell on carcas?
Found a dead deer on my property the end of January, I suspect it was a car hit. I was laying dead on a frozen spring so I drug it off and put a spare trail camera on it. 4552 pictures the first week.
Get the kid what he wants. I started with a 30-06 at 11 or 12, 760 pump with steel butt plate. Never felt a single recoil while in the field hunting. If hes recoil shy get a lead sled or reduced loads. Got my nephew a ruger youth gun years ago in 7mm08. He was a small kid at 12 so needed...
Definitely go for Magnum, I love my 7mmRMag, load down to 120gr for antelope and up to 168 partitions for elk, can pretty much do anything with it, IMHO.
If you want bigger go with a 300 WinMag, Tikka T3 Lite is my choice. Even in these crazy times I've seen ammo in a few stores.
I think the...
Ruger #1 in 7mm Rem Mag, 120gr Nosler ballistic tip. Followed by my Ruger #1 in 22-250, forget the specifics. I spent the time building loads for each one and am very happy.
I would go look at it close up. If he send the pictures the same day he put the hide on it in no way would look like the final
product. I would have expected to see a bunch of pinning and other hardware on the mount if he was setting it aside to
dry. Unless he used a boat load of super...
My nephew is eying my Ruger #1 in 25-06, he is going to have to pry it from my cold dead fingers someday though. Awesome antelope gun, fun for long range prairie dogs too. You should not regret the caliber choice.
