This seems to be driven more by a lack of staffing or interest in gathering good data to make decisions. Was any context provided about the WHY it might go away? It is not rocket surgery to realize that reporting helps to:
monitor wildlife populations
develop tag quotas for specific districts...
Yep, I am also "Speechless" at the asinine shooting, all caught on film with the dumbest soundtrack ever. This is not storming the beaches of Normandy or Braveheart....good grief. This 307 Pursuit or WTF ever needs to put down the camera and re-read Fair Chase and retake Hunter's Ed.
Walsh is a soft-handed, corporate rich guy who cares mostly about your portfolio, last name or where you went to college. He spends 99% of his time on guided, very posh flyfishing trips around the world. The fact that he didn't know this doesn't surprise me at all. He has zero interest...
The weak fine and penalty is on par with this guy's lack of ethics and just being a plain old D-bag.
$5k? For a bighorn ram? Then I poke around a bit, and see this: https://capcity.news/latest-news/2020/11/09/montana-man-fined-4000-for-poaching-bighorn-sheep/. Huh....Breaks ram, shot in May...
OK, just to be clear, that was an example of sarcasm lost in translation via the typed word...even if they were "life partners", yes, you are correct, who cares? I sure as hell don't -- I work with and have people in my extended family from every walk of life and am 100% supportive of however...
He's a tool. Bad for bowhunting. As mentioned above, think of how many shots/hunts ended up with wounded animals due to lobbing arrows, darts, spears, etc.
And let's not forget about his life-partner.....keep in mind, he intentionally spends time with this:
Stronger than it looks. The amount of (or lack of) ice you need to stay "on the route" is minimal. Tough to protect unless you have some rock gear options, but it can be iced up cracks which makes cams almost useless; banging in pitons becomes a good option, or hammering in a hex or wired nut...
I was "kicked off" or whatever they do to one's account when I questioned the validity of someone's covid 'cure' as well as you know who's genius idea of ingesting bleach, etc. and I apparently was not allowed to question or make fun of their "Respected Supreme Leader Comrade" for his...
Don't google "700 Club for Sheep Hunting"....I stumbled across some hunting podcast where the guest had "completed it". Of course I had to dig in more about it. In a nutshell, you shoot all 4 species of sheep, and if the total B&C or SCI score of all four sheep total at least 700 inches, you get...
These are
These are some of the best pics/story on this thread, primarily because three decades ago, my guess is there was a Pentax or Canon 35mm camera (yep kids, film!) with one lens slung around your neck, and it wasn't just as easy snapping away with a phone.
I remember processing those...
This story is a proverbial dead horse, but if you look closely at the article mentioned earlier and their "commentary" in the lower corner on if it was legal, etc. it is a bit gag-worthy. If that youngster is "the legal ram" she shot, WTF.
I like the line 'once certain, take the shot.'. Yeah...
I am waiting for someone to write up their list of US made products on a phone/laptop/desk top computer made in the US with US components...we really have to pick and choose what is "US made" and are limited in those options.
The cold facts are international trade in 2021 is a very different...
