Last year it was 16.7% NR vs 83.3% for Res in GMU 201
CO used to be MORE generous. LOL. Applications used to cost $7.00 per species, if my memory serves me correctly, and I didn't have to buy a license to apply. Now it's around $100.00 for an elk point (including a license and all the...
I could be wrong on the auctioned tags. Where do the auction tags come from then?
Do you know what the current % NR tag allottment is vs. what it used to be? I used to know, but forgot over years. I think it's 85% Res and 15% NR now. I believe it used to be something like 60/40 or 70/30...
This type of activity in the past, in my mind, is the main reason for point creep.
Years ago CO used to give out a higher percentage of tags to NR, then they dropped it substantially. Then they started pulling tags out of the pool to be auctioned off, and then there's the landowner tags (not...
The most accurate gun I every shot was the first 3 times I fired it. It was for sale and the seller agreed to let me shoot it a 100 yard gun range in between where we lived. It’s a Weatherby Mark V Accumark in .257 Weatherby Mag. At 100 yards I could barley tell where the 2nd shot was...so we...
The bear on the left, and the skull, are from my son’s bear. I bought him a guided hunt for bear in Michigan’s UP as a college graduation present. He ended up shooting a 457 pound (live weight) Boone and Crocket boar. It was officially scored at 20-1/16”. His first and only bear hunt (so far).
I have to agree 100%. Mine has done things that I've "NEVER" seen other rifles do. It is unbelievable fast and flat. The shock it delivers is just incredible.
Mine is a Weatherby Mark V Accumark. It has a 26" barrel plus a muzzle Weatherby muzzle brake. It wears Leupold glass. It has...
Great pics, great bucks and an even better story! Congrats on a great trip that was brought about by the amount of planning and hard work that you put into it. Great Job! Ant thank you for sharing.
I'm not sure it'll be that much. It took 8 (Res) and 19 (NR) points to draw the 3rd season last year.
For the 2nd season I'm guessing 8-10 (NR). Last year it took 6/7 points to draw.
I'm in a similar situation. We have 3-4 points more than what was required to draw a particular tag last year. I think we're going to try and burn them this year. It'll be very interesting to see how the point creep jumps with the later seasons.
With the new five year plan that postponed the seasons by a week...what do you think it'll do to the points required to draw a tag. Last year it took 6-7 points min for a NR 2nd season to draw. What's your best guess for this year???
Thanx!
