Thank you so much! One of the best hunting photos I've been associated with. Mother nature sure made this one a beauty. Not many days this calm and sunny in the fall on Kodiak Island. It was postcard perfect weather for the first two days.
Damn!!! Good for you. You certainly were hardcore enough to to go after them and you earned them.
I have to ask…how does that “Ribeye of the Sky” taste? I’ve always wondered. Again, congrats on an incredible year!
A 30-06 would be a great cartridge for black bear.
My son shot a huge 460 pound black bear with my Ruger .450 Bushmaster. We used it because we were hunting over dogs and he needed a light/short gun to travel through woods quickly. However, I would NOT recommend it. I bought a Ruger Guide...
I understand and agree. I know what you mean when you say "legit 20+ skull." FYI-my son's bear was measured by a CBM (Commemorative Bucks of Michigan) official, five months after it was taken. They're the state record-keeping organization for Deer, Bear, Elk & Turkey.
Thank you. I agree. It took him (8) years to draw that tag. I told the DNR officer that checked his Bear in that it was my son's first Bear hunt ever. He told my son that even if he hunted every single year for the rest of his life in Michigan that he'd never even see another Bear that big...
I live in Michigan. If I left beer in a cooler for four days in January...all the beer would have froze and exploded...even if we didn’t have any ice in the cooler. LOL.
Thank you for responding. I do have a lot of 'heartburn' as you put it mostly because of all the changes over the years that have postponed me being able to actually draw the tag I started chasing, while watching the fees absolutely skyrocket.
Simply put...every change has delayed my hunt...
