I liked to be entertained. If I want to be educated then I watch a documentary. It was better than 98% of the the other entertainment I found on the box at the time.
I own an ABolt hunter in 30-06. I love the rifle but cant get over the BOSS feature So it sits in the closet. I would venture to say if it was synthetic, didn't have the BOSS and was a deer caliber with less recoil it would get a lot of use. If you want it , buy it.
If I was buying a young person a deer rifle I would buy them a Tikka T3 light in 6.5 cm.
Top it with a good variable scope 2.5-10 ,3.5-10 ish power and a 40-42 objective. That should do well for them until they are old enough to buy what ever else they might want or can buy.
Most of us probably...
This. You can smear whatever you want on the outside to create a crust to help seal in some moisture but a large piece of meat bastes from the inside out. So I would inject or brine.
I cant help you there. I been using the same Leica I bought back in 2004/5. Pretty inexpensive per year for a quality piece of equipment than has been thru tough conditions and never failed to range. It will probably last me another 5-10 Years.
I would buy another If it did fail.
I shoot a 7mm08 MRC X2 as my primary deer rifle. My deer rifle is more about the package than the caliber. I hunt out of a climber in the south east and drive an atv with in 50 yards of my stand. Shots are 50-200yards with most around 150. I wanted a rifle that had a 22 inch barrel and was...
I will be hunting for whitetail with my ML a few days before the general rifle season kicks in up in Alabama. ML for two days then four days of hunting there with my 7mm08, then on to Ohio for a week of deer hunting with my 350 Legend. I will gone for about 3 weeks.
Great chambering. I’m learning to love my 7mm08. A bit tough the last few years to find specific ammo but thankfully I had about a five year supply. I have about two years supply left of the federal nosler bts I been using. Got worn out looking for it so
I bought about another 5 year supply of...
I like to receive gift certificates. I can put them together and get something of quality I been wanting. Since I like them I give them out. Unless someone I am buying for specifically mentions something they want in the price range I plan to spend on the gift i give a certificate. Some might...
I have a mule deer mount that my grandfather shot. I am 60 now and enjoyed it from the time I was 12 years old. It went with me to college and hung in the frat house behind the bar while I was there 4 years. It been in every house I have had. I had no children so this year I am hauling it up to...
I believe they will find each other. I was coyote hunting on a ranch in Florida. The ranch had a good population of deer as they were not hunted. I was blowing a fawn distress call. I was amazed at the number of different does that came running into where we were sitting. It was right around the...
If I didn't have the original box I would buy a cheap hard plastic case Like others have mentioned. That eliminates and pointy edges on the rifle from poking thru a cardboard box. Using the box the plastic case comes in is a great idea if its the right size.
This, also remember generally speaking best time will be early or late in the day. So the sun will be low. Make sure you aren't going to be looking directly into the sun at the time your most likely to be seeing and taking shots at deer.
