FS: 30-06 Improved Rem/Age barrel, Preferred Barrel Blanks

Sorry, I should have included that. It's a taperless contour. The barrel below the breach is .810". Here are the specs:

    Any idea what these are???

Looks like they do make them in 150gn. I'll be darned.

    Any idea what these are???

My first thought were they were 140gn Fusions with a cannelure, but I weighed them. I've just never seen or heard of 7mm Fusions coming in that weight, but I suppose it's not outside the realm of possibility they make them for factory ammo. ???

    Any idea what these are???

I ordered a few things from Midway USA the other day. One of them being "factory overrun Sierra Game Kings 7mm 150grain". Well, my order arrived today and, I guess I'm no bulletsmith, but these ain't GameKings. I measured and weighed them - they are 7mm and 150gn. But they look like a Fusion...

    .284 Win and heavier-ish bullets

Not to hijack my own thread, but my .280AI shoots Accubonds of all weights extremely well. The 150s are about .5MOA with H4350 and an MV of about 3080fps. Currently that's my go-to.

    7mm08 140BT for elk?

This is just one of things. You'd probably kill your elk under the right circumstances, but I'd suggest there are better options.

    .284 Win and heavier-ish bullets

I'm interested in seeing if I can get my .284 Win to shoot a little heavier bullet. So far all I've tried 160gn NABs with H4350. I'd say the outcome was mediocre. Before I try something else I thought I'd put out the question for others that load and shoot a .284. What do you use for 160gn...

    7mm WSM... thoughts?

Anyway, about the 7mm WSM, I have no personal experience with it, but I know a couple guys that have them and love them.

    Barnes 127g LRX

Question on the LRX - the standard Barnes TTSX definitely likes a jump to the lands; is the LRX comparable in this regard? I have a couple boxes of 7mm 139gn LRX bullets I'm intending to try in .284 win.

10+ Years of Use, What Worked

Beer. It's worked for 10+ years regardless of how much it's used. But really, I do have a handful of things I've I keep going back to because it just downright works, but I'd be hard pressed to think of something I haven't replaced in the past 10 years that I've actually used much on...

How do the 150gr, 7mm Sierra Tipped GameKing hold together?

I tried some 165gn TGKs in my 280 AI yesterday. Pushing them with what remains of my Reloder 23. Accuracy was remarkably terrible. I was surprised.

    Waste of Game

I don't know how MT is turning out results as fast as they seem to be, but FWP is certainly taking it very seriously. Kind of funny that the last bear I shot, they took a year and a half to get the age data back, but it's obviously different procedure and priorities and all that. Also, the...

    Waste of Game

I've had only one tested and got the results back in about 3 or 4 days. By that point it was already in the freezer. It turned out negative though.

    Waste of Game

I was kind of appalled when I went to the landfill yesterday and saw this laying off to the side: Maybe this was roadkill, but I'm not sure why someone would gut and skin roadkill. I can't imagine that this wouldn't be considered waste of game. I seriously considered calling the Game...

    7mm 140 gr. Accubonds

I assume you're referring to the .284 Winchester?

    175 ELD-X or 175 Nosler ABLR

One more thing I'd add about the ABLR they certainly like to jump. I was able to get decent accuracy closer to the lands, but it was very prone to throw fliers.

    175 ELD-X or 175 Nosler ABLR

I've played with ABLRs a bit in my .280 AI. I can attest - finicky. I don't have a lot of experience with the ELD-X, but was pretty underwhelmed when I tried them in my daughter's 7mm-08. Like others have suggested, those 160gn Accubonds are darn good bullets. I can understand wanting to try...
