The big difference between the B.1 and B.2 is the type of prisms they use. The B.1 uses Schmidt-Pechan (most binoculars use these prisms) whereas the B.2 uses Abbe-Koenig prisms. You'll notice that this, for one, leads to a significantly higher light transmission for the B.2s. To accommodate...
In your first post you stated $800 as top of your price range. If you're willing to stretch that to $950ish I would suggest you get demo Maven B.2s. Pretty much universally people agree they're significantly better than B.1s, and hold their own against top German glass if not being quite at...
I am a big fan of the alpine pants and have been using them exclusively during the earlier seasons for three years now. That being said I think the knee pads are pretty thin and not very soft. I think I would, if I had your condition, prefer a more padded knee pad. Perhaps Sitka mountain pants?
Based on the information you're giving I would purchase a unit wide landowner voucher third season rifle tag in Colorado in either Eagle, Mesa, or Garfield counties and DIY it from there. Killing a big buck isn't easy to do regardless of where you have a tag, though. Like others have said...
Are you looking to draw a tag or are you looking to buy a landowner tag? Depending on how much you're wanting to spend would affect the advice I would give you.
S and S Archery is a great resource who have spent a lot of time trying to find the best backcountry tripods for the price.

I use a Promaster XC525C tripod and pair it with an Outdoorsmans pistol grip head.
You wouldn't be hosed. Fort Carson is OTC for 3rd rifle, and in Colorado an OTC tag is valid for all units in the state that are open for that season. It would be wise to have an additional unit picked out to hunt if Fort Carson closes for whatever reason.
They can close down hunting at Fort Carson for any reason at any time. Based on that fact alone I wouldn’t throw all your eggs into that basket. At the very least have a well thought out backup plan for a different unit. Good luck!
Arizona's game and fish website has lots of useful info on each unit and where to commonly find different species of animals. This is a great starting point.

You're moving to the largest metro area of all the western hunting states (not counting...
I owned a Razor HD 11-33X50 for a few years. When buying it I compared it to 65mm and 85mm Viper HD series, which obviously is a tier higher than the Diamondback. The Razor IMO was much clearer than either of the Vipers and I suspect it would be far superior to the Diamondback. Higher...
x2 ishootdasmallones. Trophy quality IMO doesn't match the price tag for unit 61 deer tags, especially for 2nd season. If you were going 3rd season it would be a tougher call but it's hard to find the big bucks before the rut kicks in. Stick to filling the bull tag and go get that lifetime bull.
My understanding is that a white flag is meant to look like a pronghorn rump. The theory is that the white will get a buck's attention and get him to think you're a rival buck. If he's curious and/or aggressive enough he may come running. It's kind of hit and miss but does have the potential...
Thanks for sharing your specific situation, that helps tremendously. As others have mentioned 12x binos aren’t the best for free handing. Having owned both 10x and 12x binos I can say that your ability to field judge an animal while free handing will almost surely not get better with the 12x due...
