Great Article. I do Believe it will take a lot of hunting to get them "afraid" of humans again as a whole.
I have seen it both ways. I've come up on grizzlies and they take one glance at us and run like hell. I have also come up on grizzlies and they turn and looked at us and went right back...
Dang that stinks hopefully they got their goat fixed! Isn't it funny seems like most the people ive had the pleasure hunting with that draw goat and sheep tags are first time appliers or someone who doesn't have any real mountain experience. Which I guess is expected not everyone gets to be in...
The guy who shot him was actually a taxidermist and he said it would be no problem to fix? He sent me a picture when he got it done and it looked perfect.
That sucks for that guy hopefully the taxidermist fixed his sheep up good for him
Thanks man. Funny story to that goat. First mountain goat ive ever seen drop with one shot! The guy shot him right in the face at about 75 yards . I am not part of that crew. I don't want to give to much away until I go but ive found multiple rams in some of these unlimited units. Granted...
I just moved to Montana from Wyoming 2 years ago and I guided sheep hunts down there and I couldn't believe that I could have the opportunity to finally carry a rifle on a sheep hunt without building a million points. Found out about the unlimited hunts 2 summers ago. Awesome to be welcomed as a...
I still don't know how forums work so you may see a stupid thread I started haha good work on the unlimited hunts guys like following this thread gonna give it a go in 2020!
depends on which wilderness but a lot residents go into the wilderness areas by horse, llama, goats, and walking in. but I would say more residents stay out of the deep wilderness spots because of exactly what you said no vehicles they'll hunt a little ways into the wilderness but not to far 5...
What do you mean theyre protective of their strips? if its theres then nobody can use it right? I guess im not following you.
Also thanks for the advice on the porcupine herd. Do you have to draw a tag to hunt that herd or is it like the 40 mile herd where you can just buy one?
Right that's what they said to me. They told me if I call by a certain time I should be able to get on with them but I know that's no for sure deal. I take it you don't know any other credible air services to hunt the forty mile heard?
I don't have a hunt booked with them I've just talked to them and it sounds like theres a good chance to go with them. That's also why I asked if anyone new any other flight companies
I am a resident just trying to help they guy anyway I can I hunt on a lot of private land here and all these landowners want is the landowners tag after harvest. Doesn't hurt to ask
