    Wyoming Pronghorn Unit 19

I have not been to that area, but on Google Earth it looks like most of that NW corner (Burnt Hollow Rec Area) is not good antelope habitat. It will also likely have deer hunters. Of the limited public land in 19, there are only about 6 individual sections of state land you can access and a...

Bolt locking forward after firing - Savage 110 Storm 7mm Rem Mag

I had this same problem last year with a new Remington 700 BDL in 7 mm. Was using blue box Federal 150 gr to sight in. Rounds chambered fine. After first shot, bolt was sticky. Second shot couldn't eject and bolt came off of shell. Had to tap out brass with dowel and mallet. Marks on base...

Honest opinion on taking the month off work for elk season? Please help!!

I would take 2 weeks this year to hunt elk, keep making good money, finish your apprenticeship, and then take a month off to hunt elk after you finish your apprenticeship.

PA Changing the First Day of Rifle... Thoughts?

Maybe it's a step in the right direction to eventually be able to hunt on Sundays.

    Favorite Trail Cams Under $100

I've had good luck with the Moultrie a30i. I have 4 of them. I think they are about $80 and sometimes you can find them cheaper.

    Unit 23 draw question

Make it your 2nd choice or buy it as a leftover.

    WI Turkey Non-Resident Disappointment

I'll just add that as a resident non-landowner, I have not drawn 1st or 2nd season twice in recent years in Zone 2. Could just be bad luck but I can get leftovers. So even residents don't draw once in a while in the regular draw for 1st or 2nd season.

    Commercial Tanning online

Bears also have to be degreased at the tannery so cost goes up.

    Colorado Big Game Change??

I called CO Game & Fish about non-resident deer PP (I am only interested in deer for CO) and the guy I talked to said that if I only wanted to apply for a deer PP it would be $80 for a small game license, $10 habitat stamp, and $9 application fee = $99. This year there is no extra fee for a...

To travel or not travel with a mount

If you're planning to let the cousin mount an elk you shoot, at least look at their work ahead of time instead of taking someone's word for it that they do good taxidermy. Just because they are "established" doesn't mean anything. They might be good, but they might suck. The ones that are...

    Colorado season dates ?

There is a 5-year season structure in place that shows the dates. The current one is for 2015-2019. Look it up to see the dates. I believe the 2020-2024 season structure will be released this summer.

Father Son Antelope Hunt - First One

I recommend just focusing on antelope. I think having a deer tag might be too much to do on your first trip especially if you don't have a lot of time and have never set foot in an area. If you tag out on antelope, then do some scouting for future antelope and/or deer hunts.

    Bowhunter's Nightmare

With only that much arrow broken off I think you might have hit near the shoulder joint at the base of the shoulder blade or the ridge of bone along the bottom portion of the shoulder blade. I hit a buck like that, he spun around and broke my carbon arrow off on a tree right next to him so it...

    Yellowstone- "Somewhat" Avoiding The Crowds?

I was there in late August 2017 and I didn't think the crowds were too bad. We tried to get out early each morning to beat the crowds and for the most part that worked. I believe June and July are the busiest. As for early May, there might be some roads that are still closed. Maybe others...

How to hunt more western hunting seasons

Could you negotiate different weeks off? Maybe see if you could swap weeks with another employee? Maybe you have considered this already but if not, it doesn't hurt to ask.

    Non resident help

I believe special buck is private land only. You will have to decide if PP for that are part of your plan or not. As a non-resident 1 point probably won't be enough to draw a west river tag where there is any decent amount of public land, but the way the SD is set up it's possible you could...

Rifle Scope recommendation for Pronghorn Hunting?

    For deer and antelope I use a Remington 700 BDL 7mm RM with a Leupold VX3i 4.5-14x40 30 mm tube Wind-plex.
