There’s many reasons for the mule deer decline . Recent drought years , hard winters , elk in places they didn’t use to be . However I think the main reason is over hunting /lead poisoning .
The criteria to have the baiting ban lifted in unit 2b east end of state has been met and the ban will be lifted . 0 positive results , the threshold of having 10% of gun tags tested was met . Also met with 0 positives in a couple other units
That’s true. I think you would be a great representative. But I just worry who’s gonna realize the real problem with mule deer if we are talking state wide , will come down to both R and NR giving up opportunities
Too many NR hubters in E Montana absolutely . Need regional caps and needs to be 17000 total . No more extra this and that . But R need to sacrifice something or nothing will change . If the committee can make that happen then I’m on board
I’ve said it for years . Until
Residents are willing to give up opportunities nothing will change . And yes some are , but by and large , they aren’t .
I think the # whatever it was includes all tags - deer and elk with b tags included , when folks can get 7 b deer tags and 2 b elk tags each it adds up quick. But too many come home to hunt , native , college student tags , all those should be cut .
Ok then let the resident shit show free for all continue it’s fine . For the record I’m all for cutting all b tags for NR and no more come home to hunt , Montana native , all those extra tags . Cut em
