I'm fairly selective in which vaccines I get. I did get the Shingrix after my doctor told me that about 1 in 3 people over the age of 50 will get shingles. Of those that get it, 1 in 6 have life long symptoms, including permanent pain, etc.
~1T a year in interest payment and more debt being refinanced at today’s rates instead of the historic low rates a few years ago.
All is fine until you fall off the cliff. It’s coming, only a matter time. Will be catastrophic when it does.
Let's take a simple example. Contribute $10k into 401k account. A Traditional will go in pre tax, so at 25% tax rate, yields $2500 in tax savings. Decades later, the account has grown to $50k. Retirement time! Traditional must take forced RMDs, and (insert whatever tax rate you think...
Don’t forget to consider the return $s and not just the initial contribution. The investment should be considerably more money if invested properly over 20-40 years. That money is either going to be taxed, Tradional, or tax free if in a Roth.
Roth offers the most flexibility in retirement. Not subject to RMDs, all the investment returns are also tax free, etc. IMHO, for the vast majority of people, the Roth is a no brainer compared to getting the up front pre tax of a Traditional. Having it all tax free, if needed, in...
Warren Buffet’s idea to solve the deficit problem. “Pass a law that says anytime there is a deficit of more than 3% of GDP, all sitting members of Congress are ineligible for re-election”
I have a labradar, but am seriously looking at this Garmin. So much smaller, and (at least) from one report, never missed a shot. The labradar can be a bit tricky to align so it picks up the target.
Our debt was significantly lower when rates were above 7% last time. Plus, at some point, people and governments won’t have enough trillions to purchase treasuries. It’s not hard for the fed to sell 100’s of Billions but Trillions is another matter.
With interest rates coming off of historic lows, the interest payment on the debt is now larger than what we spend on defense budget - both over $800B a year.
