Littler trout out of littler creeks
Got out for a few hours again this evening. Weather dropped 20 degrees in the past two days, making it a little more tolerable out there. Still warm enough for wet wading. Do I get a prize for the tiniest fish? A Dundee or something?- bowhuntmontana

Gotta experiment with that. I am going to try sitting on the cross piece behind them. Or, the doors come off easily with two pins, so if I have to, I can stow them up front and put them on once I am where I want to be and set up. This will be an iterative design experience.- bowhuntmontana

Elk hair caddis has been my best fly this summer too. Haven't switched to anything else for months and haven't needed to. I fished a high mountain lake Monday and those snobby lake fish would swim up and look at the fly, sniff it, and turn away. But not those stream fish. They only have a split...- bowhuntmontana

Love this! I got interested in tenkara fishing over the winter and picked it up. Turns out there are trout in most of the tiny streams flowing from the mountains near my home. Streams I wouldn't have ever considered fishing previously. Now they provide hours of fun and adventure within minutes...- bowhuntmontana

Alaska fish run 2022
Congrats, Buzz. Looks like a great time and some delicious fish. I went fishing in Alaska for the first time about a month ago. We fished out of Ketchikan. Had a great time and I have been looking at different options to start going back. Where did you fish out of? Kodiak?- bowhuntmontana

Utah Dedicated Hunter program
This is true for some units but not all. Just check the regs to be sure if it applies to your unit. I have been lucky enough to take a cow on a control tag on a few of my muzzy deer hunts. Has become one of my favorite hunts.- bowhuntmontana

Dexter Russell. It's about the only one you see at fish docs and with people that fillet hundreds of fish each day. I got one to fillet a few dozen salmon last week in Alaska. Gave my electric one away when I got home.- bowhuntmontana

Nikon Prostaff on a 300 win mag question
I have that scope on my 300 wm and on my 50 cal muzzleloader. Zero issues for me. I had the bullet chasing issue several years back with a different scope. Turned out the scope mounts were loose.- bowhuntmontana
