Dave N Elk tag fund raiser

I'd be up for that. I'm not too far away. Been thinking about coming that way for archery as a way to pre-scout for the rifle hunt. This gives me another reason to go see some country and meet some good people.

I'll be there. Looking forward to it!

    Sell me a quilt

I've had a bunch of them, several that I like. It's been a bit of a rabbit hole for me. I've had my best comfort with hammocks between 10 and 11 ft in length, gathered end, and a moderately stout material, like a Hexon 1.6 or a 70d nylon. Always have a fixed ridgeline at about 80% of the overall...

    Sell me a quilt

I got into hammocks about 9 years ago. Once I got it dialed in there was no looking back. Sometimes I think I go backpacking just for the sleep.

Why I didn’t fill my WY general tag.

Didn't have cell service to live stream it. If it's not on the Gram it didn't happen. #influencer

12 days in South Africa - Free State, Cape Town, and Franschhoek

Glad things worked out well in the end, and congrats on some beautiful animals and memories. I spent about a week in South Africa in early 2020 doing some qualitative research for a humanitarian organization. That meant I spent time doing in-depth interviews with people in their homes in Jo-burg...

    Here comes Utah YET AGAIN

I trust Utah to "manage" their lands about as much as I trust my dog not to eat the pizza off my counter when I leave the room. I mean, what's not to trust about a guy like Reyes? More lovely reading...

    Big news!

Congrats, Dave! I've got a hunch you'll be pretty great as a grandpa. Soak it in.

    Tailgate Pics

That pic of the heavy whitetail from @antlerradar reminded me of this buck I was lucky enough to take several years ago. And what do you know? I have a tailgate pic of it. Not quite as big as the one in his pic, but still one of my best bucks, and he looks good on my wall.

    Sell me a quilt

I've owned a bunch of quilts messing with hammocks and ultralight backpacking. Enlightened Equipment is good. Hammock Gear econ line have been very good for me too.

Small creek tenkara rainbows from this morning. Caught fish from 3" to 10" in some gorgeous high gradient water.

    Kayaks?

100% correct. I could definitely see advantages there with moving water.

    Kayaks?

I hadn't seen this new drive. Yes, this might address some of my concerns about needing to make some quick and tight adjustments where a paddle works well. Probably wouldn't know until you try one out. To be fair, I never tried a Hobie drive, just the Pelican version, and you do hear that those...

    Kayaks?

So I went down the pedal-drive kayak rabbit hole last year, convinced I would like some version of a pedal drive. Over the course of that year I owned and sold an Old Town Big Water 132 pdl, a Pelican 110 fin drive, and a Brooklyn Kayak prop drive. I used them and fished from them in high...

    Great Social Media posts?

I'd like to say I haven't ever done this... but there is a reason my current edger is electric.

Switched it up from high country trout to some warm water action. I don't keep many fish, but these two got invited to breakfast.

    Born on the floor

Congratulations! Glad mom and baby are well. Sorry I can't say the same for your living room carpet. Babies, birth, and the women who make it happen are miracles. Soak it in.

Another trip, but this one came with a surprise, finding some grayling, and a lot of trout.
