As previously mentioned some bullets are prone to coming apart if spun to fast. A good quality modern bullet shouldn't have much of a problem with a fast twist.
There is a group of people who have come to like faster than normal for caliber twist rates as they've found the bullet stays stable...
Thank you. I warned my wife that not all of the meat was going to make it home! We grilled some of the backstrap the night before we came home. It was great!
Thank you guys. I pulled the RV to the campgrounds they have on the Refuge. My dad came and stayed at camp to take care of things and cook while I was out hunting. He and I went foraging for firewood the day after I tagged my elk and we ran into a couple of bulls at about 150 yards. It was cool...
Funny enough it was my first year to apply for it! There were several others that it was their first year to apply as well. We had another guy that was in our unit who had hunted there before they changed it to once in a lifetime and drew again this year.
I was blessed by winning a cow tag for the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. This would be my first elk hunt and it couldn't have been a better experience. The folks at the Refuge, the Department of Wildlife, the RMEF, and all of the volunteers that helped to carry out elk did all they could to...
I've used Starline brass on my dad's .300 Ham'r build. Wilson Combat's first run of brass was made by them but I think they're using another supplier now. They worked well enough that he and I both took a whitetail with it.
I was looking heavy at a Sirui but ended up with an Innorel RT80C. It's a bowl top which was what I decided I liked over the Sirui. It's been very reliable and sturdy so far.
I have a bit of bias here. I do small engine repair and sell Stihl power equipment. I've worked on other brands as well and much prefer working on Stihl. I have kept a saw in my pickup at times when there are storms or icy conditions that might drop limbs across the road. It's come in handy when...
If you're going to bed a rifle I suggest doing both. That eliminates the most variables at once. Bedding gives a nearly zero clearance fit between the action and the stock, which reduces the chance of the barreled action moving under recoil, and the pillars give the action a solid abutment that...
I've worked at the same place since I was 20. We sell hardware, appliances, furniture, and outdoor power equipment. I've got certification for small engine repair and do all of the work on the power equipment as well as a majority of repairs on company equipment(forklift, computers, etc.). The...
I know this isn't a trigger thread but since it's heading that way. I've run a Velocity trigger and enjoyed it. I've moved over to Larue's MBT 2 stage which is very high quality especially for the price.
As far as lowers I've used an Anderson with no problem but that's not everyone's...
