    Idaho Unit 73A Mule Deer

I was born in Pocatello and my grandparents lived in American Falls and farmed in Rockland. I moved away when I was young but have hunted the Deep Creeks a couple times. It can definitely get busy fast. But both times I found bucks and even some good ones without much scouting. However things...

One gun to do it all .25 sst (Sherman short tactical)

I think the heaviest Hammer is the 128 gn that still meets G7. Thats a lot better than the 115 gn G1 bullets of the past, but I am still looking forward to more offerings in the 130+ range.

Input Needed to Make the Show Yellowstone More Authentic

I am not a Montana native so feel free to disregard. Also I have never watched the show. Has there been a BMA flock shooting episode yet?

One gun to do it all .25 sst (Sherman short tactical)

Yeah, I started with an internal debate between 6.5 and 7mm. But with the emergence of .25’s becoming more prevalent and two more bullet options coming out this year, I am confident in being able to get one to work. Knowing a couple other very good shooters with real world experience on game...

How’d you know I am a chubby chaser? Are your comments based on field results on game? I’d like to here more anecdotal information about your experience.

In the 25 it should feed fine from BDL bottom metal.

One gun to do it all .25 sst (Sherman short tactical)

I understand the position and it is definitely unconventional to think of a 25 as a go-to for large sized game, but at over 1500 ft/lb at 600 yards, I would say it has all it needs for the situations we hunt. To produce that energy with just 54" of drop is what really opened my eyes. I know...

One gun to do it all .25 sst (Sherman short tactical)

After some ups and downs with rifle issues last year I decided to do a full build this off-season. I hadn’t decided what cartridge to build for but wanted one gun to do it all. I have three growing children, a wife who is an occasional hunter and a typical season for us includes everything from...

Bill with no sporting reps, three landowners on Commission one vote from passage

Man, Montana is not messing around. Ranchers and Outfitters really do feel entitled to run the State ow red wildlife there. Here in AZ we are too busy fighting about stupid trail cams.

    Happy Ending

I, for one, have never had a happy ending at a buffet. Nor have I ever lost track of my rooster at a civil war reenactment. But may have choked it once at a cracker barrel in college.

    Arizona Youth license/application

Points must be purchased during the application period. For elk and pronghorn that closed last night. Deer and sheep will open in April/May. Also as a general note, you do not need a portal to apply or buy points. There is a direct link right on the website.

    AZ Archery Deer #’s

Earlier this year I requested information on the number of archery deer hunters in AZ (otc) for the past several years. Below are the results: 2018 2019 2020 Dealer sales- RES 20,832...

    AZGFD Portal Changes

IMHO AZGFD is hands down the biggest pain to deal with electronically. It’s not even funny even more. They manage wildlife well but their IT has gotten so bad I won’t even bother trying to apologize for it anymore.

You can apply without a portal account. Just use the link on the AZGFD web page.

Non-resident outfitter license (MT) Bill is up for hearing 2/2/2021 (SB 143)

It makes sense to me that if the government is going to fix the amount of demand for outfitters at 60% then it stands to reason they should also fix the supply. It looks like someone needs to introduce a bill that limits the number of guide licenses available in the state. Each year the members...

Non-resident outfitter license (MT) Bill is up for hearing 2/2/2021 (SB 143)

Has anyone considered the impact to future generations of hunters? If this were to pass my sons would likely only hunt MT one time in their youth. It is unlikely they would develop the kind of affinity for the state that I have grown up with. So when Montana needs help with a conservation...
