    Boots?

I was needing some new boots with more substantial support since my ankle is getting bad. Damn thing rolls easily. I tried Kenetreks, Crispis, and Zamberlans. The Zamberlan fit me the best and have worked very well. They also have a less pronounced heel than some, which I tend to trip over when...

Half Ton Truck C vs E Ply Tires

You can use an e rated tire in a half ton and keep the psi down. It'll still jar you more than a c or d tire. Tire makers like goodyear make the duratracs in a c or d, might be worth a look. I ran the bf goodrich ko2s in a c range once and they were garbage.

cooking elk steak - help needed

I use a liquid marinade to add flavor, then dry off and rub with olive oil and seasoning before smoking/ Rev sear. Baste with butter while searing, dome and rest before slicing. For my family, I slice all the meat thin and make au jus with the juice the cuts make while resting. These steps...

The collapsable tent stoves. Are they any good?

I have a seek outside XL I used this year to heat a 12 man tipi. Coldest it got was mid 20s. I was the stove tender and I was loading every few hours. It takes maintaining, but if you're in an area that calls for light stuff and understand the limitations, it's great if you ask me. Better that...

Will buck look bigger just before shedding?

No. The old horn pops off and isn't part of the new one. Two different horns.

    Who makes shed mounts?

I've done a few using mountain mikes skulls. They turn out pretty well. A bench vise comes in real handy for drilling and mounting. Also, have someone help hold the antlers up on the skull and pencil mark the horn and pedicle to get the correct alignment.

Last few years we haven't got to hunting until later. It's a great time. The weather can be bad, but the same can be said for earlier. Have fun and good luck!

    Intermuscular fat?

I save beef trim when I can. Wild game roasts smoked then braised in beef broth and fat turn out well.

    South central wyoming timing?

It's six of one, half dozen of the other. Weather can always screw you up. Other than that, should be a great time either time frame. If it were a high pressure area in the east I'd have different advice.

Anyone ever use the Gobege 12v for larger tires like 35s? About 1/2 price of the Viair, says it'll do 35" in 5 min.
