Boot insulation
Uninsulated boots a size bigger than normal and a variety of good wool socks let me regulate my feet temps according to weather. I can keep my feet pretty comfortable and happy from 70° down to 0°.- elkfanatic

Two rifles, One Caliber?
I would set an accuracy goal for both rifles and if one load meets that goal in both rifles, great. If not it's two different loads. I've got three 223s shooting the same load less than moa. ISO Affordable, quality lightweight sleeping bag.
Hyke and Bike, Eolus 0° down 850 fill power. Under 4lbs, and packs relatively small. Haven't checked prices recently but got mine for under $200 several years ago. Very comfortable and super warm.- elkfanatic

What's your side hustle?

Indiana Bobcat Season Law Signed.
I've been hunting public ground in the southern end of the state. Neighboring land owners I've talked to have been complaining about the bobcats getting into their chickens. One had a litter of kittens behind his barn. So I'm guessing the population is pretty high in some areas.- elkfanatic

The quiet season
I was asked by several hunters with deer leases in Michigan to try and reduce the coyote population on their leases and surrounding areas. They had more yotes per square mile in that area than I've ever seen before. Most of the ones we killed were sick with mange, which if I understand correctly...- elkfanatic

Indiana Bobcat Season Law Signed.
Hopefully they will make it concurrent with deer season. I've seen several while deer hunting the last five years or so. Only bad thing would be that my Indiana public land deer gun (.450 BM.)wouldn't be very fur friendly!- elkfanatic

Barnes lrx question
I've had excellent results with 175 lrx out of my 300 win mag. on elk. Easy to work up a load and plenty accurate . They claim to expand down to 1600 fps but personally I'd shoot for at least 1900-2000 fps at impact just to be safe. I have not shot the ttsx .- elkfanatic

Waterproofing Gear at Home?
I've used Atsco and Scotchgard both with good results. I use it on my cold weather hunting clothing which is water resistant. It makes it even more resistant plus snow doesn't stick to it. I spray it about 3-4 weeks before hunting season and let em hang outside under the porch roof to air out...- elkfanatic
