I have never handled a Seekins but I have heard good things like with the Tikka. I originally paid almost $800 for the weatherby so I would imagine if I put a upgraded stock, timney trigger and send it down the road with the scope on it, I should at least get $5-600 on it I would hope. Then I...
New 700s? Have I been living under a rock? I like model 70s as well. I have a .264 win mag in a model 70 but they discontinue models so often, you find a model you like then they stop making them.
I currently have a Weatherby Vanguard 26' 7mm Rem Mag. I'm thinking about trading it next year when I get a bonus from work and I have already dedicated alot of time and development in loads to go completely away from 7mm Rem Mag. I've never bought myself a super nice rifle that I could use for...
I'm looking at IMR 4831 and I had just started tinkering with the oal. The best group I shot was with the GMX 150 gr at the the recommended oal. I just don't think the rifle likes the eld-x which is a bummer.
I'm researching to see what I can find and use. I haven't looked at berger bullets. Just frustrating to put the time in and test the loads and the rifle doesn't like them. I used my old trusty .264 after the 7mm wasn't doing what I was wanting it to and I shot an 8 point from 150 yards at an...
Last time I checked they had them in .284 on opticsplanet but I have since checked again and they are on backorder for 8-10 months. So I look into the Barnes and Hammer bullets.
It's a 1:9.5 barrel and it's got the Howa markings on the barrel. I'll probably just try to get some that are comparable to the Hornady GMX to see if it likes that bullet design the same. Like I said, I've been looking at the barnes and I even saw a deal on some sierra bullets in .284 the other...
That's what I was assuming. It's like playing the lottery, determining which bullet the barrel will like. It may hate them then you have 40 rounds left that would be good for 100 yards in or it may love them and you could shoot for days.
I've currently been reloading for my 7mm Rem Mag Weatherby Vanguard with a 26 inch barrel 1-9 1/2" twist. I just got into reloading last year and it has proven to be a fun endeavor but also a never ending pursuit of tighter and tighter groups and figuring out which bullet the barrel likes. I...
For anyone else who knows nothing about barrel contours, I have educated myself and differences from this website. Turns out carbon barrels aren’t much lighter than their steel counterparts. Everyone is entitled to their opinion which is fine and one of the main reasons for joining the forum was...
I’m not trying to impress anyone so for the looking cool part, I don’t care about that. I’ve just started looking into the biggest difference between the 2 and figuring out if I want to upgrade or get another rifle in 6.5 creedmoor. Yes I would like to have a brake and the ability to get a...
The weight difference mainly. The stock on it now is almost 5 pounds and if I put a sendero or bull contour in steel I would more than likely be at almost 15 lbs depending on the scope I would mount. The scope will either be a Leupold VX3 3-9 or 4.5-14. From what I have seen a carbon bull or...
Next year I would like to upgrade the barrel on my Remington 700 .308 and put a new scope on it or I have really been wanting to pick up a Bergara Wilderness HMR or HMR in 6.5 Creedmoor. I primarily use my .308 for shooting out to 4-450 yards for practice and during whitetail season here in WV...
Anyone with a brain stem would know not to disclose your location especially during military operations, oh wait watch their cool special forces training videos on youtube and they probably don't have a brain left after doing the crazy stupid stuff they do for training to show how "special" they...
