My dad also had one of these and I to think I learned some of the cuss words I know today. But being a 12 year old kid hear his dad say a bunch of cuss words and toss the saw it was hilarious to me, just didn't let him know that.
We use a 361 and a 441 that I'm sure either one would work plenty in a mill type set up. The 441 has plenty of power and even too much at times. My dad also has the bare saw without the bar and fuel tank of a 028 wood boss that I'm trying to piece back together and overhaul. It originally had a...
The local gun store I deal with called me the other day and said they have a Seekins Precision PH2 in 7mm Rem Mag allocated for them and said they could order it for me, so I have one on the way. I'm excited to see it and give it a try.
I have been reloading for a little over a year and my buddy the other day gave me his Hornady Bullet Comparator since he stopped reloading. Does anyone else use one of these and from reading up on different techniques to use for more repeatable results, they are fairly useful with precise...
Price increases are one of the reasons I haven't made it out west to hunt elk yet and having 3 kids under the age of 8. I understand they make their money from non residents but its really frustrating to have to think about not only the trip out west which takes over 30 hours but also the price...
I have a Seek Outside Cimmaron and it is a wonderful tent. If you're not using a stove, say in the summer/spring when the mosquitoes will carry you away you can get a nest for a little bit of nothing from lite outdoors. That same company also makes tents that are similar to Seek Outside tents...
I have a lvpo 1-4 .223 wylde on the AR I built years ago and it shoots like a champ. My son shot his first whitetail a couple of years ago over 300 yards and dropped it where it stood. It also depends like others have said, what is your budget and it sounds like your going to be shooting mid...
I for one have never been a big fan of the NFL, especially when they started doing all the kneeling for the national anthem and protesting like they do. Do that in another country without the government we have and you would be a video of beheading or something on youtube. I would much rather...
School me on bedding. I've never personally done it myself but I have read about it. Is there a particular method of doing that is better than the next? Certain kits that are better over others? I wouldn't be opposed to bedding it and if that's what gave me better and more consistent groups, I...
The HS precision stock has an aluminum bedding block in it. The grouping as I have said before isn't the best. I shot multiple groups in November at 100 yards, 200 yards and 300 yards and my group at 100 was well over 1 MOA, 200 was almost 3 inches low and one at 6 o'clock and the other shot 8...
I've been mixing in Mtn Tough, beachbody workouts, rucking and running. I would like to cut 10 lbs and be down to 210 instead of 220. I would like to eat a little bit better but sometimes after pulling a 12 hour shift and driving an hour home I eat whatever the wife has made for dinner. Also...
The more I look at the Seekins, the more I want one. It looks like finding one in stock in 7mm may be the only problem. Their warranty seems to be one the better ones especially for a firearms company.
My 7mm has been touch and go with the reloads that I have developed. The best group I have shot was a 3 shot group at 0.86 but it was with 150 gmx and 59.0 of IMR 4350. The eld-x the best group is not even close. I’m going to work with IMR 4831 and see if that does better. Also I’m getting a...
I always want to make sure the shot of ethical and a clean shot but I tend to find a shooting lane or lanes and estimate the range then double check with the rangefinder making a mental note of what ranges are what. So it’s basically a fail safe for me. Especially with bow hunting.
