This is the block of land as you look east. The only other hunter is a guy that sits in the very SW corner and watches the two ag fields. No one bow hunts the area. A lot of beds by the swamp and in the oaks.
Quick update on the land. My wife and I sent in an official offer and it was accepted by the seller. We just need to do the paperwork and it should be ours by the end of the month.
Learned a lot and look forward to this new adventure.
I'm dreaming of a mnt. goat hunt. I know that the season opens in August in Alaska, which would allow me to hunt without having to miss work at school. I believe that it is a random draw and you need an outfitter to apply (or give you his number) The biggest concern is that the fur will not...
I would agree. I have not helped myself here. I guess it is a lesson I have learned and hopefully can share to help others. I will let you guys know what happens next.
My agent is not a friend but I know him. The seller's and the agent on that side are friends.
I got a response today. The seller is still at 120k so we are $5000 apart oin the conversation. I will talk to my wife tonight and made a decision.
Today's update. My agent called the seller's agent and they still have not gotten a response from the texts/calls. We have decided to put in an official written offer with a time to respond.
We have never put in an official offer on the land. The numbers being bounced around were from agent to agent and then them calling/texting the seller and myself.
Great points. Her last price was $120 and we came back with $115. It has been on the market for over 300 days. I guess all I can do is wait or send an official offer over to the seller.
Yes I have ants in my pants. I will try to be more patient moving forward. Agian, thanks for the advice...
My wife and I found some land we are very interested in. We started very low and the seller responded within 24 hours with a counter. From there, we put a price that would put us in the middle. Again, 24 hours later and she replied with her bottom dollar. We then came under by $5,000 and...
My sister just had baby #2 and I started thinking about the future and hunting. As a "cool" uncle, are there any states I can start building points in for young kids? I would like to work on points so they can use them when they are mid 20s-30s and don't have to wait to build points like I did...
Beautiful area!!! We hiked into Iceberg Lake. The ice was just breaking up in late July!! We saw a few moose and a bear. After the hike we went to Cameron Lake and watched a huge moose feed in the lake. You will see goats at Logan Pass. Make sure you have your gas tank topped off every...
My wife and I walked the 80 yesterday. The south 40 is thicker than hair on a dog's back but there are deer in there. The north 40 is nice with a small stand of oaks and a swamp. The oaks had deer sign and the swamp had tracks going across it. In an hour, we kicked up 4-5 just walking down...
