Why do you like your gaiters?

I'm a gaiter freak! Been wearing em for years. Back home in the high country the best around were OR's. Wore out two pair of those. I now have some from Kuiu that seem pretty durable. Bowhunting around here they are noisy but they keep the clingons out, and right now they frustrate the ticks...

    More poaching nonsense

I live on a farm in Wisconsin, I hunt surrounded by "bait fields". Why one would need artificial bait around here boggles my mind, but they do a ton of it!

PSA . Leaving your hunt area info with family or friends.

I am outdated, and never used any of the GPS stuff , which was new when I was active, closest I got to techno gear was avvy beacons on ski patrol. With all the latest gizmos out there right now, there really is no excuse for loved ones to have to worry about where someone is!

Don't read too much into my post! Honing one's skills , to me was enjoyable and quite necessary! The outcomes were sadly, not always enjoyable!

A Rollercoaster Ride Through The CO Alpine

Even back in my physical prime I would not have done that hunt without packhorses and I had access to many. Some of the places some of you young studs pack out game now days makes my roids hurt! The wilderness areas were my happy place back then, with not many people! Today's trend in the...

A Rollercoaster Ride Through The CO Alpine

That was a cool story, and am glad those days of packing out elk on me back are behind me, though I wouldn't have traded it for anything. The thought of not hunting above tree line anymore in my waning years is a tough pill to swallow. This was an incredible hunt!
