GoHunt Double Insider Points

Coyote Eats Deer Before Hunter Gets To It
I lost one that way too. I had to come back the next morning and the buck was just a skeleton. I couldn't believe it. I figure there must have been at least a dozen coyotes on the carcass to completely eat that deer. -

Powder and bullet
I've shot several whitetails back in Arkansas. The real test was this guy in 2019 at 173 yards. The bullet performed very well with uniform expansion. It was lodged in the hide on the backside of the bull. I did have to wait until the morning to recover. He was hurt bad and standing in the same...- hogcarpy

GM trucks and front end chains.
This is a good question. The owners manual of my 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 says to not use chains up front. Much to my dismay.- hogcarpy

I would highly suggest subscribing to Gohunt, Toprut or another service. There are a number of units that would provide much better than 10% odds in a good unit. -
SB 312 - eliminating outfitter set asides.
Does anybody know when New Mexico introduced the Outfitter pool and changed the NR allocation? I would be interested in doing some research to see how it effected NR draw odds. With the debate on SB 312 helping or hurting the DIY guys, maybe history would provide some clues?- hogcarpy

Great example of how important it is to try on several models and brands of boots prior to purchase. I've purchased boots after trying on one pair that felt decent, but regretted it after trying on some others for the heck of it. Some boots fit bad, ok, good and great. Ya, many folks are having issues the last couple days. I got set up in the new system, but it crashed yesterday morning. My account still doesn't show previous/current draw info along with bonus points. AZ G&F has the info in their database, so they say it shouldn't be an issue. -

Are spotting scopes necessary for elk rifle seasons in open terrain?
I agree with everyone's suggestions so far. A pair of good quality binos are all you need. Spotters are handy for reasons previously described, however, not necessary. Particularly true in open country. I always bring a spotter along on my hunts. I don't always bring the spotter in the pack, it...
