    Wyoming wallet alert

Is it a foregone conclusion that its impossible for WYGF or any other game agency (or any other government program....) to cut costs or become more efficient? It's always MORE MORE MORE. Yeah yeah.... I know.... dreaming.

    Property Taxes

13K+ on .6 acre and that’s probably only middle of the road in my area. Just bleeding me out financially more and more each year. Same deal with multi-hundred acre farms paying less than me when they are farmland assessed. Or people with more than 5 acres on their estate or hobby farm who...

    Barnes LRX question

I am a novice reloader and am learning as I go. My simple goal is to find that one recipe for each of my rifles that gives me reliable “minute of deer” accuracy out to max of 400 for certain cartridges. The other day I tested my first batch of 270 loaded with the 129 grain LRX, using H4831SC...

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

It’s gonna take something BIG to undo ever-increasing interest and the tempting cash cow that creates.

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

I love lost causes! Often a good sign of a fight worth fighting….. But yeah, isn’t likely to reverse until something utterly breaks in the current system. Which won’t be good either. Leading contenders… CWD crossover…. Ballot Initiatives…. Great Depression II…. World war…Pandemic II. Any...

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

Thanks Buzz. I am willing to pay my fair share for the priveledge of a tag, and have proven that I’m also (albeit grudgingly) been willing to pay for points and application fees (thousands of times over) but at the end of the day, I don’t like the way its increasingly being done in shady and...

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

Maybe what I am alluding to is there is a “right way” and a “wrong way” to do it. And they are doing it wrong, and most people do know it, though most don’t care, and some even like it. It’s effective, it raises money. But there’s a reason Aesop called this scenario out and even children know...

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

I can’t celebrate that even if it were true and even if it benefited me by excluding others who could not afford it. Particularly so on that last point. There is nothing defensible about gouging your customers in any line of business, its weird to think that this is TWO sets of addicts (G&F and...

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

Hi Roger. Its fees in most western states that are mandatory to pay to apply, I would include even a base licence that is unwanted and won’t be hunted but can’t be opted out of. nothing to do with cost of obtaining an actual tag, if drawn. Most years I have $2000+ in nonrefundable fees and thats...

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

John I know. We all know that. I am perplexed that its used sometimes as a hammer in this unending battle where something is posted that could be discussed on its merits and half the responses are just “then don’t apply”, more or less. Are we all so far gone that saying app fees are getting out...

Thats a low bar. I’d vote for any HT member of good standing, or even bad standing, over our usual choices.,

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

Agreed, but that is not the point, and that could be addressed in the licence cost if they wish (and is!). I don’t see the difference if 5 people or 50 million people are applying for 1 licence . How does that justify it? These are not raffles, they are applications to an official agency for a...

Crazy Application Fees - Burn Them Down!

Why are we OK with them? Limited resources exist all over. Parking spots, hotel rooms, event tickets, picnic and camping sites, beaches, boat slips, fishing holes, and a million other things. But somehow, some way, we have accepted that the privilege to even APPLY for a theoretical chance at a...

Wyoming $75 NR application fee proposal and more...

It sure is. Makes me appreciate the conservation heroes we grew up reading about who were champions of land preservation, habitat management, game herd restoration, reintroductions, etc. Something tells me our kids and grandkids are not going to feel the same about the special interests, elite...

    Tired of Multiple Registrations

Big Fin doesn’t often make threats. Probably less often does he make idle ones. The next move is up to Weimer and it probably better not be anything other than saying “Good bye, you will never see me again, and thank you for not exercising the nuclear option.”

.308 win bullet selection for new reloader

If you are looking at TTSX, just know that the 168 grain is suitable for 308 velocities. Don’t use 165. The 165 grain is best for higher velocity 30 cals including magnums.
