We have been getting rain but it’s so darn spotty...Yesterday I watched dark clouds and thunder go by and never got a drop and I’m right up against the mountains. Need a couple real good soakers longer than 15 minutes !! Temps have dropped to mid 70’s for the rest of the week though.
Southern central NM has been very dry since March. We’ve gone from the first of March until a few days ago with record high temps, no moisture at all and then it was a hit and miss 30 minute rain, some places got some some didn’t. Since March my rain gauge has only measured 3/8 of an inch total...
Hunt elk in 36 like you would anywhere but I would look into finding someone who could pack one out if needed because 36 is a steep, rough place !!! Been record temps and no rain, hope for some rain and be in shape !

Dill pickle juice. My wife was cooking at an elk camp last year and one of the hunters was having bad cramps and he had her get him some dill pickle juice.... it worked for him.
Snow in 34 can be non at all to several feet. You never know what kind of snow the area will get but when a snow storm hits it usually a good amount of snow.
I’ve been putting in for an early archery tag in AZ for 15 straight years and still no tag....No love in AZ again this year....17 points for next year.
I have hauled a travel trailer all over the country hunting. I 80 across Wyoming in a big wind is no joke. I came across I 80 once after a wind storm the day before and around the Elk mountain area there were 8 semi trucks blown over on the west bound side and 5 semis blown over on the east...
