On our end at any rate, when I spoke with the Aussie distributor who said they couldn't get them in, they seemed to think my best bet was to source them myself. That leads me to believe there shouldn't be an issue.
Sending projectiles or powder would definitely be illegal but I can't see how there would be an issue with plastic caps? Having said that I don't want to get people in trouble, so if anyone knows if there is an issue or where to find out that information let me know.
G'day all,
None of you really know me from a bar of soap and I'm the same for you all so I apologise for asking, but I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out.
I'm in need of a few things that are hard to get in Aus, one item in particular has hit a wall here. For my new hawken I'm...
Jeez I'd like to, the world is a crazy place at the moment and might stay as such for a while yet!
Not to derail your head but I end up with this type of thing when I use bleach. It's ok, but not near enough to perfect for me.
I'll try your method with a red stag I took this year and see how...
Beauty, that's the kind of buck I'd like to take one day. What do you use for your euro bleaching. My brother was talking to a game keeper from scotland who used some chemical (not bleach) and said it was the best way to go.
We have the same law for dead head hog deer, if you want it you have to hang your tag on it. I opposed it until I realised a lot of guys were shooting them, letting them rot and "finding them".
Having said that picked up off the side of the road, eh.
Welcome,
I don't live in the states (Aus) but if I did my passion would be mule deer too!
Slowly building my points, to hunt them one day.
Enjoy the forum, it's a good bunch
I don't know about any of that but you should come down and hunt the great southern land once covid eases off. What part of the country is your uncle in?
Don't worry if he wins I'm sure he'll forget about it...
Jokes aside, you don't want that. We can't buy ammo online so I end up being stuck 300km (180 miles) from the nearest city having to buy whatever crap is available here unless i want to wait months for it to be ordered in.
Just wanted to reopen this thread if I may,
So in Aus we can't get Barnes MZ, powerbelts, thor, parker and I'm going to have to double check on the TC. At this stage the Hornady range is pretty much what I have on offer.
I don't know what things cost in the states but given that they're generally around half what we pay in Aus, Leica and Swaro are far in front of Meopta, Leupold, vortex etc.
My Leupold VX-R is comparable to my brothers Swaro Z3 in low light. I think there's a bigger difference in a cheap to mid range scope than a mid to high end one.
Low light is my measure, lost a stag once when I had poor glass. Could see him with the naked eye but was a blur in the grey dawn...
I've got no qualms with that, blokes here are using them now for trophy class deer and then portraying the deer as a trophy. That I take issue with. It is illegal in my state but there are loop holes that allow it.
For me it's pretty clear cut, fair chase is hunting an animal that is free ranging and is hunted in a manner which enables it to utilise its natural defenses against the hunter.
You learn by experience, I used to shoot game out to 600 yards but decided when I was able to move fairly freely and...
Eric Blair aka George Orwell wrote 1984 in 1948 after having spent years as a war correspondent and spending time working across different european countries and was a warning against totalitarianism. He envisioned unless there were dramatic changes in society we'd be heading this direction in...
