Hi,
I'm looking at sending a set of red stag antlers to a knife maker in MT.
Just wanted to see if anyone has imported them before and if so what if any permits or paperwork are required?
I contacted the state usda but never got a response, which is helpful.
Thank you
Very interested to know people's experience with these on game. Particularly larger game.
Probably going to buy some for hunting red stags and buffalo but at $75 per box of 20 I want to know they're as good as Hornady tell me.
Doesn't sound like anything went wrong, on the contrary things worked out pretty well, just weren't paying attention at the right time. Happens to all, including me when stalking (still hunting). I've tried every method of hunting I can think of and in my opinion none compare to the level of...
It will be more challenging than any hunt you've ever done, but far more rewarding than any trophy! There is nothing like it, if you want him to hunt just don't call him Hunter - seen that not pan out. Enjoy the ride.
My second boy was due 16th May this year, popped out on the 9th and we almost...
Reading through the thread, if non-resident hunter numbers haven't increased but the resident hunters have increased by 10, 20 or 30 thousand over the last decade or whatever the number is isn't that the issue with crowding? Why don't you restrict the number of animals a resident can take or...
Sorry to throw my Non resident Alien self into the conversation but I just wanted to clarify. Is the issue of crowding on OTC a separate one to the tags you must apply for and draw if one wanted to hunt elk or mule deer or whatever in say the muzzleloader season (think you call them limited hunts?).
Lead conicals have been around for a while and do a good job killing things quickly. But I do think you're correct that anything that causes death more quickly and painlessly is good. To me it's a separate issue to how that method of death is delivered though.
I agree that is can be a point of...
I agree with that though, people are too focussed on success.
Here in Aus in sambar country, which is to say big mountain country (see pic) long range shooting is taking off. And people say willingly (my brother being one) "I'm sick of seeing big deer and not being able to get them". I point...
It's a 50 cal with a 1:24 twist. Fast twist i know but we only had two importers into Australia, Lyman and Pedersoli and last year Lyman pulled the pin. So I ordered hawken hunter by Pedersoli. PRB aren't legal in my state at any rate, need a minimum weight of 230 gr projectile.
I want to run...
Having a muzzleloader season but then allowing scoped guns with no exposed ignition source etc. That shoots out several hundred yards seems to defeat the purpose of having a muzzleloader season. It seems a lot of guys hunt muzzleloader seasons just to get an extra crack at hunting not because...
They are discontinued but muzzleloaders.com bought out the entire stock so still have them. I bought a heap when I first got a muzzleloader. Still have probably 70 left, used 240gn xtp and they worked so well I never bothered changing.
Chasing up some cast lead bullets going forward, hard to...
Congrats mate, it's the greatest thing you'll ever do.
In all seriousness when we were planning for both our boys we skipped trying the months that would have them born during the rut/hog deer season. My second was born early and ended up a week after the hog deer season closes so it was close...
