300 rounds of 5.56.... taking forever to prep.
Trying to make an M855 clone. 62gr FMJ, BLC-2 powder. Not the best powder, but I have a bunch of it and I'm going to use it.
My father used to have a Marlin 444 that would do the same thing. Shot better than most bolt rifles and was an absolute menace in the whitetail woods. He was going through a breakup one year and needed the $ so he gave me the option to buy it before he sold it to someone else. I still kick...
Looking for a Garmin TT15 Mini- collar only. Nobody has had any for months and the backorder ETA keeps getting pushed farther and farther out. Would like one soon to start collar conditioning.
Regular TT15 will not fit until pup is almost full grown. Really don't want to buy a different brand...
Pretty sure I have the world's only Sako 85 that shoots patterns instead of groups. I'm done building loads for it. It's out of warranty, so I'm putting a Carbon Six barrel on it and a custom stock if I can find one. Everything will be new except for the action. Going to be my first bolt rifle...
That's exactly the advice I needed. Thank you. I do have a torque wrench and have installed a few AR barrels, so I at least know a little in that regard. Over the years I have been doing more and more of my own gunsmithing and this is the next step.
I'm really wanting to try the Proof Research...
Anybody ever swap a Sako barrel? I have a Sako 85 in 7mm-08 that needs a new barrel and I'd like to try doing it myself as a project. From what I understand, the Tikka pre-fit barrels from Proof Research are interchangeable with the Sako 85.
The process seems pretty straightforward, but I...
Damn dude. Got me all emotional thinking about my little ones. Guess I'll head over to the "Jokes" thread after this.
That is really cool though... I'm always putting a bug in my kid's ears about coming hunting with me.
Agreed with what he said. My first elk was taken immediately after a snow/ ice storm. As soon as the weather broke and the sun was just starting to poke through, it seemed like every animal on the mountain was moving into the open to feed and dry off. Very cool experience.
Also, if you know...
Wisconsin- 1 day. By the time late November rolls around all my western hunts are usually done and by then I'm pretty burnt out. Not to mention I do archery hunt in my home state and I usually have meat in the freezer before I even head out west. Plus I butcher all my own animals and that's just...
If you're "considering" taking a job in Alaska, my advice would be to take it. That's once in a lifetime and I've never heard anybody say they regretted moving to Alaska, even if it was only for a few years. You can always come back if you don't care for the winters.
He is an American Brittany. Great bloodlines going back to the 1970's though fwiw.
He will be another excuse to get outside (and out west in the future when he is finished). We are lucky to live near some amazing grouse habitat.
A few months ago I started a thread asking some of you to talk me out of a bird dog. Congratulations, you all failed.
This is 8-week old Brittany pup "Chief". Brought him home last weekend from a kennel in northern WI and already he is a pain in my ass... The whining, the chewing, the crate...
