Great year looking back...
Cool picture of a sunset while driving back to camp elk hunting in Arizona.
One of our dumb/ lazy dogs.
A few cool pictures from our Alaska trip back in June.
My wife will never see this post lol. To add to it, she (we) has a pet tortoise that she has had for 14 years now. Said tortoise has his own FB and Instagram page to show off all his little tortoise costumes. At the same time it's both the saddest and cutest thing I've ever seen...
I wouldn't say terrible. He was fun as hell to watch in his super bowl years and extremely efficient with the ball. The last few years in Seattle were not kind to him and he really got banged up. Think he went from one of the best TD to INT ratios to the most sacked QB in less than a decade...
Apparently yesterday was my Brittany's 1 year birthday. My wife of course wanting to make a big deal out of it asked me "are we doing anything special for Chief's birthday"?
Me: "What!? No! He's a dog!" SMH
Wife later that evening:
He's supposed to be getting neutered in 2 weeks. Now I'm not...
No point in getting snow all over and inside of everything. Makes for a wet and miserable camp. I also wouldn't have the patience to setup a tent in that kind of wind either.
It's all about tradition here in WI. Every year 1 or 2 hunters mistakes an Elk for a deer too. Part of the reason I no longer rifle hunt in WI is because of our public land mentality. A lot of party hunts and deer drives. We have more than our fair share of wasted deer too. Not hard to find...
Cousins have a cottage on Big Star. Been there a handful of times in the last 30 years...I'm not sure Baldwin will ever change lol. Ludington got a little crazy though.
Yeah, I should have been more specific when I asked... has anybody ever used slugs for an Elk or a Moose. I forget that deer are considered "Big Game".
Used a 20 Gauge for a few years on Whitetails in Missouri (slugs/ MZ only where I was hunting). For sure got the job done.
That'll burn a barrel out quick I bet lol
If I could only have one gun to do it all it would be a 12 gauge. Birdshot, buckshot, slugs, everything from squirrel to Griz. I don't know that there are any regulations against using it for things like Elk or Moose. Anybody on here ever actually use a slug gun to take big game?
