I love my scythe. I have it on a CCM 7-08 with an 18" barrel and both the recoil and report are significantly improved. I'm not sure I'll be able to get my kids to shoot without a suppressor ever again.
I think it went exactly how this hunt was supposed to.
There's only about 5 chunks of ground that are both accessible and have a reasonable chance of holding an antelope in the unit. They range in size from a half section of ground to about 10,000 acres. We had an opportunity immediately as we...
Tomorrow morning well before the sun rises I will depart for Wyoming with my oldest daughter. She had some tough luck in the draw and came up empty on a buck tag, but she drew a doe tag in a different unit. The 2nd choice application was a bit of an afterthought, and if I believe what I read on...
Well I feel like a grade A idiot. My daughter had 4 points for antelope and I have 6. I thought she'd have enough points to draw on her own so I did not party app with her (I just bought a point) so that next year I could party app with my other daughter who is behind in points.
The unit I...
7mm-HT. For the record, I've been shoot the -08 for far longer than it's been the belle of this online ball. The first rifle I ever purchased was a shiny BDL chambered in 7-08 back in about 1995 or 96. Outside of a few hunts I took my fathers 257 roberts on, its the only cartridge I've hunted...
I am having a rifle built that will primarily be for my oldest daughters use, and the scenario will present itself that we will be using the same caliber rifles on the same hunts for the next couple of years (hopefully longer but college gets closer for her every day). My current rifle shoots...
I once stayed a night in the Airport Inn located in the lovely town of Malden, MO. When I got into my room the sheets were undone from the previous nights guest and there was still some clothes on the floor of the bathroom. The carpet at the foot of the bed had what looked to be a bloodstain a...
I really like the kinco 901t mittens for my kids. I warm them up in the oven and waterproof with sno-seal. I buy them big enough to slide a hot hands in but we've never really had to do that. If it's really cold I'll have them wear a cheap pair of spandexy liner gloves from Costco (head brand I...
The white portion that turned solid is the tallow. I use it for all sorts of applications where a fat is needed (mac and cheese, roux's for thickening, etc.).
When I render fat I take the trimmings from my brisket and put them into a foil pan and let that cook in the smoker. I've not ended up...
The moose is cool, but I do love the 42 and 44 series JD tractors. I spent a large portion of my youth in a 4430 with the same loader. I can smell the ground up dirt on the floor through this computer.
Asheville, NC is a really nice place with plenty of food and shopping. My experience is the at the Inn at Biltmor. It's a wonderful estate with some short, scenic hiking trails about the estate.
Savannah, GA has an incredible food and cocktail scene. Very charming city perfect for a weekend...
