Calculation - Odds of drawing a tag?
I slowed down and read WapitiBob's calculation and can now grasp that concept. most of the hunt's i'm applying for are less than 1% because many are sheep, goat, moose, etc. I do have a few in there that look to be between 5% and 12% which if calculating correctly based on WapitiBob's calc put...- Baerman

Thanks for weighing in guys. I love math and I have no idea why I can't grasp an understanding of this. So if I put in for 20 different hunts and the chances of drawing each individual tag is 5% would the formula simply be .05^20? which is .358 or 36% odds of drawing one tag?- Baerman

you can find some pine on both sides of the northern half of deadline ridge. I'd assume you could find some mahogany on the south end too. -

Who here uses trekking poles?
started using them a few years ago to haul meat. This year i started using them while hiking in at dark. They take a bit to get used to but once you become proficient with them, they are a game changer. My wife has a bum knee and was anti-trekking pole...until this year. They really helped her...- Baerman

OnX Maps
I've enjoyed OnX Maps in Idaho this year. I'm using an android device and have no issues with any of the functions. I really like how I can place markers on the computer and reference them on the phone or visa versa. boundaries, land ownership, roadless areas, all if it has been very helpful...- Baerman

Bugle Reports
Central Idaho....Saturday, Sept. 1 I found a canyon with six branch antler bulls and cows. The bulls were not paired up but they were definitely starting to establish who gets the ladies below them. I was able to call a small rag in twice but couldn't get a shot either time. -
Game bags for deer/antelope
I have been using the Ovis Sacks the last couple years. Been used on three animals with bone in and no signs of wear yet. -

Question...In a party application, do the stats represent all point holders who drew the tag or is this an average of the points? It could be that one person in a party has 6 points while the others have two or less. Thus the overall average would get them the tag.- Baerman

That is interesting. a 12 point holder going general! Even the 7, 8 and 9 point holders. Crazy. I suspect the high number of 6 point holders realized that it's going to be a long haul until they are able to get a highly sought after draw so they might as well concede.- Baerman
