    E-bike Access?

you're point about erosion might be valid in a 1-1 comparison. I would venture to say that the number of e-bikes on a trail would outnumber horses 10-1. I unfortunately live in the city and can easily buy an e-bike but I'm in no place to have and maintain horses on my property. This case applies...

    E-bike Access?

No to E-Bikes in non-motorized areas! Part of the benefit of non-motorized areas is that those willing to put in the effort are able to get away from the crowds. E-bikes will promote more activity in quiet spaces. This world is noisy enough.

    GoHunt vs. OnX

Sounds like the overall consensus is that OnX maps are preferred but GoHunt research tools and articles are superior. I'd concur with that as well. I'm looking to scale back subscriptions in many areas of my life and budget and I'm hopeful that I can simply select GoHunt or OnX as my go to...

    GoHunt vs. OnX

I think the view shed tool in OnX Elite does this for you now.

    GoHunt vs. OnX

I just upgraded to Elite in OnX. Those new tools are incredible. The slope exposure and elevation bands are cool but the View Shed tool is the best in my opinion. My GoHunt subscription is good til March of 2024 so I'll have a little time to play with the Top Rut and consider going strictly back...

    GoHunt vs. OnX

Something else I just realized is that GoHunt is not current on Access Yes properties in Idaho.

    GoHunt vs. OnX

This is my general conclusion as well. I haven't dove into the TopRut info now that it's incorporated into OnX to see if that get's me enough info on researching hunts. I'm just growing old of subscriptions in general and trying to simplify.

    GoHunt vs. OnX

Looks like OnX has some significant upgrades to their mapping, scouting and application packages with the addition of TopRut and Terrain-X. I tried using GoHunt maps exclusively last year and compared to OnX on my wifes phone. I found OnX to be superior for a number of reasons. I was hopeful to...

    IDFG Tag Sales

this system of putting people in a waiting room and then handing out your place in line through a random number generator is lame. I miss the days of truly first come first serve, on the limited tags. but no, they have to make it "fair". I don't get what's fair about showing up early and then...

    Nevada 032, 034 Antelope

underwhelming. only saw four bucks in four days and the heat did me in. only one buck was over 12". Didn't turn him back up opening morning so I took one of the other bucks. Density was lower than what I see in Idaho. All in all, a good experience though. I'm just not built for that kind of heat!

There is a small hot spring at the bottom of the road that accesses this area. it was a good place to wash off in the evening. I slept on a cot in the bed of my truck and stayed mobile the whole time. I covered a lot of area but probably should have broken up the scouting trips so I didn't get...

I climbed up on a peak in there and found a good herd of goats up on the bluff with one good one. I put them to bed in hopes of finding the big one in the morning. I found the herd but after a couple hours of watching them, the big goat never turned up so I shot the smaller buck in the group...

Day 3 I spent around Onion Valley Res. and Knott Creek Res. I was told that there are some big bucks that can be found in deer country near the head of Knott Creek and Little Onion Res drainage/Alder creek. I spent time learning the roads but never saw any fresh scrapes or goats so I went back...

Day 2 evening I went up on the west side of New York peak and towards Knott Creek. I did see a decent buck up high in there but other people were watching him too so I moved on. I saw about six goats on that trip but only the one decent buck.

The morning of the next day rode my atv over Sentinel Peak and towards Bishops peak. I continued west down into the head of New York canyon. good looking country but I only saw some does. I'm sure there were some bucks in there as I did find some scrapes.
