I went for the hunt but the experience with horses was every bit as exciting and enjoyable. I too highly recommend every DIY hunter give it a try at some point.
Unfortunately, I was the only one in camp that did not see a griz. One day, there were seven grizzlies seen and three were a sow and two cubs strolling right through camp while I was on a hike. Another day after my harvest, I hiked from camp to grab those sheds and one of the guides who rode...
I drew a wilderness unit and wanted the full experience so I chose to hunt with Crandall Creek Outfitters. No regrets, had a blast and shot a bull. Found a bonus set of matching sheds too.
yes, using a q-tip I've also lubed the neck. I am getting scratches, more like shavings off the neck but very slight. I do not see burrs on the inside of the casing but I'll look up in the die. should I lubricate the die as well?

If the money is used for further conservation and does not allow an individual to have more than one tag per species per year, I'm all for it, no matter the State.
Looking for some recommendations for a bear and fish charter in AK. Hoping to book something for next year but not sure how realistic that might be. The trip doesn't need to be necessarily guided as long as there is lodging by boat or cabin and a skiff to get around with fishing gear & crab pots...
This bill is just incentivizing landowners to encourage wildlife damage on their property. Is this not a win-win for them by way of trespass fees and now also being reimbursed for damage? I wish I could buy a large parcel, plant a crop and cry wolf for property damage at my own doing so I could...
Add a day in the rear for packing out and taking care of the meat. Or cut your hunt a day short because you don't want to deal with a dead elk hours before your flight home. I'd drive and find a way to get more time off.
